Community Shop in Kirkdale further supports local families with increased discounts

As lockdown three continues thousands across the region are now facing increased challenges and Community Shop Kirkdale is supporting individuals and families to access their food shopping at around 50% off the normal retail price.
Community Shop is open to people who live locally and are in receipt of means tested benefits, including Free School Meals. During the lockdown, Community Shop Kirkdale’s doors are also open to any individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet.

Members will have access to deeply discounted food and products from household names including Waitrose, Tesco, Iceland and Nestlé.
Individuals and families are encouraged to sign up for membership by popping into the local store to pick up a membership pass.
As an essential retailer providing critical support to the community, Community Shop [name] is open as usual with all the appropriate safety measures in place to safeguard its members and colleagues.
Natalie Brown, Head of Community Shop said:
“January is always a difficult time for many people, and we know the additional pressures that the national lockdown and ongoing pandemic will result in even more pressure on so many, especially with schools being closed.
“Our doors are open to anyone who needs support and we would encourage anyone eligible for membership to sign up so that they can access the essential food and products that they need at deeply discounted prices, helping to stretch family budgets at a critical time”.
