Croxteth Hall to mark 450 year anniversary with special heritage market

Croxteth Hall, the historic home of the Earls of Sefton, is hosting a special Heritage Market this weekend to mark 450 years.

As part of Heritage Open Days, visitors can explore the Hall’s stunning interiors, with stalls set throughout its Tudor, Georgian, and Queen Anne-style rooms. It’s a unique opportunity to soak up the rich architecture and local history while browsing over 20 stalls selling handmade crafts, jewellery, artwork, food, and more.

Following the success of the seasonal artisan market at the Grade I listed St George’s Hall, which welcomed thousands of visitors, Liverpool City Halls continues its celebration of local craft and creativity this September. Guided tours of Croxteth Hall are now sold out, but visitors can still explore beyond the market with free self-led tours available between 11am and 4pm – no booking required.

Croxteth Hall has been beautifully preserved to reflect the elegance of its past. The self-led tour offers a chance to discover the opulent Drawing Room, the sweeping grand staircase, and the fascinating Servants’ Quarters tucked away below. Café 1575 (dog friendly) will be open from 11am to 4pm, serving a delightful selection of coffee, cakes, and lunch options. Located within The Library, it’s the perfect spot to relax after browsing the stalls and exploring the hall.

The nearest car park is located at L11 1EH, with accessible parking spaces available in the Conference Car Park via the Flint Drive entrance at L12 0HB.
