Dark comedy Caroline’s Kitchen visits the Everyman this spring starring Hollyoaks’ James Sutton

A biting new comedy will be served up to Liverpool audiences, as Torben Bett’s Caroline’s Kitchen visits the Everyman from 19-23 February, before transferring to a New York stage.

Following Caroline Mortimer, the nation’s favourite TV chef with a seemingly perfect life, Caroline’s Kitchen is a simmering story that looks beyond Caroline’s sparking on-screen personality.  As the cameras turn off and lights go down, the truth comes out. When an unexpected visitor disrupts a night of celebration, there is more than wine to spill.

Caroline Langrishe (Lovejoy, Jude John Deed) plays the role of Caroline, with Aden Gillett (The House of Eliott) as her husband Mike. James Sutton (Emmerdale, Hollyoaks) will play Graeme, with Jasmyn Banks, Elizabeth Boag and Tom England completing the cast in the roles of Amanda, Sally and Leo.

Actor James Sutton, who is best known for his role as John-Paul in Hollyoaks, said: “Having been a resident of Liverpool for the past 13 years, I’m thrilled that we’re bringingCaroline’s Kitchen to the Everyman. It’s a theatre very close to my heart, and the chance to perform there is one I’m very excited about.

“Caroline’s Kitchen is a delicious dark comedy, brilliantly staged and with incredible dialogue, it’s something I know the Merseyside theatre audiences will love.”

Caroline’s Kitchen is brought to Liverpool by The Original Theatre Company. The award-winning company’s recent production of Alan Bennett’s The Habit of Art starring Matthew Kelly, visited the Playhouse in October 2018.
