David Hasselhoff is in Liverpool and tells us why he loves the city…

As if we met the actual real life Hoff today…
David Hasselhoff is in town starring in ‘Last Night a DJ Saved My Life’ which runs at the Empire until Saturday 23rd January. The Hoff plays Ross, a hilarious hedonist. He’s ibiza’s top 80s DJ who doesn’t realise a new decade has dawned, disco is out, a new club scene is in. He tries to keep up with the times and with Mandy, his new younger girlfriend (Kim Tiddy, from The Bill, Hollyoaks), but matters are complicated when his teenage daughter Penny (Stephanie Webber from TV’s The Voice) arrives to stay. Father and daughter haven’t seen each other for three years, since a messy divorce. No longer a demure schoolgirl, but a wild child who quickly falls for Rik, the holiday rep (Shane Richie Junior). Ibiza is the location and the cast are on a mission to bring the audience some of the biggest and best tunes of the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s.
Jay met up with the man himself on stage at the Empire to talk about Liverpool, girls in rollers, Richard & Judy, Paul McCartney & his career highlights.
