Days Out: Look What’s Still to Come This Summer Holidays!

Captain Pool and his Mersey Mariners!
St George’s Hall is preparing to set sail on an adventure that will keep the children ship-shape with… The New Adventures of Captain Pool and his Mersey Mariners! This fun-filled experience involved craft activities, songs, games and more theatrics than you can shake a wooden leg at! Also a great pit stop on a rainy day too! The Annual Liverpool Pirate Festival
Sticking with the watery theme, The Albert Dock will play host once again to a two-day spectacular family event, jam-packed with swashbuckling fun on the 10th and 11th of September. The fun begins from 11am and is free to attend. Families are encouraged to get into the spirit of the event by dressing up and can expect live action drama, parades and tonnes of fun activities across the whole weekend. Square Pegs 1st Birthday Bash
To celebrate their 1st Birthday, Square Pegs invites you to party with them at their spiritual home, Constellations, on Sunday 4th September from 11am. As it’s their big day they’ve got a little something extra for mums and dads; we’re talking full bar, street food and global grooves from world-renowned DJs. The kids will be kept entertained with a whole host of creative workshops, from collaging to DJ-ing and body-grooving to storytelling; whatever their creative preference, the Pegs will provide a day to remember. The Science of Art
The Victoria Museum & Gallery are running family workshops throughout the summer alongside their popular film and craft Saturday sessions. On Saturday 25th August you can join Mary Hill and create your very own atom art masterpiece at the free drop in workshop between 1pm and 4pm. And it’ll be ready to take home the same day! Get Creative on the Wirral
‘Making Places Special’ is the theme for the Summer Art Workshops at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum in Birkenhead. Running on Tuesdays to Fridays the free drop in sessions are aimed at 8-15 year olds who can create their own artwork based on print, textiles, construction and painting….all with a professional artists on hand to give them a little more inspiration. Fusion Festival
If you’ve exhausted all the museums, galleries, crafty sessions and fairgrounds and all else fails……..get your festival chic on and head to Fusion Festival, making its debut in Liverpool on September 3-4 at Otterspool Promenade. We dont think you’ll find many kids who will moan about having to dance around and sing along to headliners Jason Derulo, Olly Murs, Busted and Tinie Tempah. A perfect way to end a summer of fun.
