Delifonseca is launching a ‘Merry-Mess Free’ takeout Christmas dinner

Delifonseca is taking the stress out of the festive season this year with its ‘Merry Mess-Free Christmas Dinner’.
Following the success of its weekly Dine At Home offering, which it launched in the height of lockdown, the restaurant has decided to create a no-prep Christmas feast that will be ready to put in the oven.
The Christmas feast includes all of the trimmings, from Pigs in Blankets with Sage Leaves to Maple & Poppy Seed Parsnips and Brussels Sprouts with Jerusalem Butter to name a few.
The star of the show will be a Turkey & Partridge Ballotine wrapped in Smokey Bacon, made with a premium free-range Wirral white turkey cooked sous-vide to lock in moisture. Vegans can enjoy a Persian Spiced Potato Roll, stuffed with lemon split peas and jewelled rice.
Proprietor of Delifonseca Candice Fonseca said:
“We know just how stressful Christmas Day can be and how much preparation is involved to get things just right, which is why we want to take the hard work off you, leaving you more time to relax and enjoy the celebrations. This is particularly good for those that have always been guests, but this year will be taking on the role of hosts – a responsibility that often comes with high expectations! For many of us, the Christmas period will be the first time since March seeing friends and family in this way so it’s important that we enjoy every minute of it without having to worry about the food.
“Our head chef Gareth has devised a menu that rings true to the traditional Christmas Dinner that we all know and love with favourites like Duck Fat Roasties and Mulled Wine Braised Red Cabbage. It’s the season for giving, so of course, we’ve been very generous with the portions too, so you’ll have enough to see you through to Boxing Day. Everything will come in carefully packaged trays all clearly marked with cooking instructions and if you’re still not sure about how many guests you’ll have this year, you can add to your order at a later date.”
Delifonseca’s Merry Mess-Free Christmas Dinner is now available to order from their newly launched online shop. Shoppers can also peruse a range of gift items from local gins to tea and bespoke hampers via the website and in the dockside food hall, which will be open seven days a week in the run up to December 25.
Candice added: “To make Christmas Day extra special, we’ve also got a range of additional puds, from our personal favourite Baked Praline & Salted Caramel Cheesecake to Mince Pie Strudel and Cranberry & Pecan Upside Down Cake. After the year we’ve had, we think Christmas is the time to go all out and really end 2020 on a positive note.
“The nature of our local delivery service also means that you can give the gift of Christmas Dinner this year. If you know someone who might be isolating or lonely, we think this is a great way to spread some cheer and ensure that our loved ones have the opportunity to celebrate despite the circumstances. This has been a difficult year for everyone, so it was important to us to do our bit to make Christmas magical through a shared love of food.”
