Denise Fergus’ new book gives strength to thousands on week of launch
7 years ago
Liverpool mum, Denise Fergus tells her story, in her own words, in her book ‘I Let Him Go’.
The Suites Hotel Knowsley was standing room only last night (Thursday 25th January 2018) as Denise Fergus launched her book ‘I Let Him Go’ telling the story of losing her little boy, James in 1993. Surrounded by family, friends and supporters of The James Bulger Memorial Trust, Denise signed copies of the book, which has been 5 years in the making, before taking to the stage to explain how writing the book brought back so many lovely memories of James as a happy, smiley, fun-loving little boy.
Supporters on the night included Danielle Lloyd, Gary Barker and Phil Olivier, with entertainment from X Factor star, Kevin Davy White, personally asked to perform by Simon Cowell in support of the event.
Former Brookside Actor Phil Olivier praised Denise for her bravery in writing the book, which will undoubtedly help others facing the unimaginable pain of losing a child. He said: “It must be so heart-wrenching to go back to those feelings and to relive what happened to her, it must have been the hardest time, but credit to her, because this will help so many people.”
Denise said: “It proves that James was a little person and not just a picture, that’s why I wanted to write the book, to show people the James that I knew.”
All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to The James Bulger Memorial Trust which supports families across the UK dealing with bereavement. You can get your copy by clicking here and don’t forget to follow @JBMT1 on Twitter for regular updates on the charity and it’s vital work.
