Discover The Wirral: Exciting events lined up for a perfect Summer

All eyes will be on Wirral in July when the The Open golf tournament takes place at Royal Liverpool, Hoylake.
But if golf isn’t your game don’t worry, there are endless events taking place all over the Wirral peninsula this summer.
From music, to history, family fun, cars and the great outdoors, there is something for everyone.
Here are eight events to get excited about in Wirral this summer:
ParentFolk
This popular family event will take place over the weened of 20th – 21st May at The Mouse at Brimstage.
There will be music, dancing, art workshops, play, pop ups and more. Families can enjoy disco yoga, DJ Nikki Beatnik, Junior Jungle Rave, make and do workshops, live art activation and comedy shows.

Hoylake Artisan Market 2023
Head along to Market Street on 27th May from 11am for this event showcasing carefully crafted handmade gifts, original art and the tastiest of food from south Cheshire, Chester, Wirral, Liverpool and Wales.
Dog and family friendly, the market will be held alongside the popular The Ship Inn, where you can relax and enjoy delicious refreshments.
Discover homeware, handmade fashion, original art, sweet and savoury treats, freshly baked bread, children’s wear, contemporary knits, fused glass, woodcrafting and much more at this super quirky, coastal destination.

Enjoy the Everly Brothers’ Music
Walk Right Back tells the story of the massively successful Everly Brothers. You can catch this brilliant musical at The Floral Pavillion in New Brighton on Friday 2nd June.

The Mowgli Dog Show
The popular show will return to Claremont Farm on 3rd and 4th of June.
There will be fantastic competitions, tasty food, drink and craft stalls from across the local region, alongside agility demonstrations and children’s activities, funfair attractions, animal petting and live music on Saturday evening from 4 – 8pm.

The show runs from 11am – 8pm on Saturday and 11am – 5pm on Sunday.
New Brighton Summer Festival
Four days of family fun are coming to New Brighton for free with the return of this popular event.
The festival will take place from Thursday 27th – Sunday 30th July at the Dips.
There will be a big stage with live local performers, funfair and amusements. A dog show, circus performers and kite displays. Face painting and glitter tattoos as well as a food village and much more.

Wirral Country Park anniversary celebrations
Wirral Country Park will mark the 50th anniversary of its official opening this year. The Green Flag Park, which opened on 2nd October 1973, was Britain’s first designated country park.
To mark the golden anniversary, there will be everything from miniature traction engines, a teddy bear picnic and wildflower art installations, to a photographic exhibition and organised walks, horse and bike rides and the unveiling of a new walkway entrance.

Get lost in the Brimstage Maze
Brimstage Maze will be open in time for the school summer holidays from 15th July.
The maze is an interactive, three dimensional puzzle which takes between 60 and 90 minutes to complete, there are clues to discover and puzzles to solve as you find your way through the growing field of maize.
There is also a fairy wood, laser tag and indoor play facilities.
Open Monday – Sunday: 10am – 6pm.

Future Yard Bank Holiday Weekender
The August bank holiday weekender returns to Birkenhead’s Future Yard on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th August.
Future Now is the annual celebration of the best emerging new music, which also marks the anniversary of the festival that launched Future Yard in 2019.
The festival will see The Bug Club and BODEGA as headliners for 2023, both having played packed out shows at the Argyle Street venue in 2022.
Expect more fun in the outdoor space with homegrown talent and international artists on hand to provide the sounds.
