Donate your vintage football boots and see them on stage in Red or Dead at Liverpool’s Royal Court
14 hours ago

If you have an old pair of football boots gathering dust from the 50s, 60s, or 70s, Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre is calling on you to donate them for an exciting production this month.
On March 21, Red or Dead will take to the stage, and the show needs your vintage football boots to help bring its authentic retro atmosphere to life.
The production, starring the talented Peter Mullan (known for Westworld, Lord of the Rings, and Mum) as legendary Liverpool manager Bill Shankly, will feature a Community Chorus and a cast of 52 performers.
Each actor will be wearing football boots from a 20-year period, and the show is asking for donations of old boots from that era.
The boots will be painted and coloured for the production, so please note that any donations will not be returned.

The vintage footwear will play a pivotal role in bringing to life the world of 1960s and 1970s football as the story of Bill Shankly unfolds.
Red or Dead is an adaptation of David Peace’s iconic novel, telling a fictionalised story of Shankly as a man of two halves.
The confirmed cast includes Les Dennis, Matthew Devlin, Paul Duckworth, Keith Fleming, George Jones, Gordon Kennedy, Oliver Mawdsley, Allison McKenzie, Liam Powell-Berry, Dickon Tyrrell, and Jhanaica Van Mook, among others.
If you have a pair of football boots from the 50s, 60s, or 70s that you’re happy to donate, head down to Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre before March 20 to drop them off.
Your contribution will help add a touch of history and authenticity to this exciting production.
