Dunelm launches Delivering Joy Local Schools Appeal to help support students in need
6 months ago
Dunelm, the UK’s leading homewares retailer, has launched the Delivering Joy Local Schools Appeal, encouraging customers to support local schools by donating essential supplies.
Starting today, customers can contribute much-needed items by bringing them to their local Dunelm store.
The Delivering Joy Local Schools Appeal is the first summer initiative of its kind from Dunelm, building on the success of their annual Christmas Delivering Joy campaign.
Last Christmas, the campaign saw customers generously donate over 125,000 gifts to local communities across the UK. Now, Dunelm is extending the spirit of giving into the summertime, with a focus on supporting schools and nurseries in need.
The St Helen’s Dunelm branch is actively calling on customers to donate items such as stationery, books, outdoor equipment, children’s clothing, plants, seeds, planters, food for school foodbanks, and writing equipment.
These contributions will help ensure that all pupils have access to the necessary supplies for the new school year.
Customers can participate by bringing their donations to the local Dunelm store and placing them in the designated collection trolleys before Thursday, 18 July.
The collected items will then be distributed directly to local schools, ensuring they are ready to go ahead of the new school year.
Paul Sullivan, Head of Circular Communities at Dunelm, said:
“We are thrilled to have launched our Delivering Joy Local Schools Appeal for the first time, particularly after the incredible impact that the Christmas Delivering Joy campaign has had over the past four years. We’re already seeing communities across the country getting involved and can’t wait to see all the generous donations put to good use.”
Paul added:
“After being placed into our in-store trolleys, we’ll be taking all contributions directly to the schools in need.”
