Easter family fun planned at Goodison as Everton Women host derby clash
42 minutes ago
There’s plenty happening off the pitch as well as on it at Goodison Park this weekend, with Evertonians being encouraged to arrive early for a full afternoon of Easter-themed entertainment ahead of the Merseyside derby.
Everton Women take on Liverpool Women in a Barclays Women’s Super League clash on Saturday 28 March, with kick-off at 12pm and local pride firmly on the line.
Supporters heading down early can make the most of a packed pre-match schedule, with activities getting underway from 10.30am across the stadium concourses.
Families can expect live music, face painting, balloon twisters and an Easter arts and crafts table, while younger fans will also be able to meet the Easter Bunny, who’ll be making the rounds handing out free chocolate eggs.
There’ll also be giveaways on the day, including baseball-style player cards and Barclays Women’s Super League sticker books.
Ahead of kick-off, the Gwladys Street Stand will come alive with a colourful flag and banner display organised by volunteers from the Everton Women Official Supporters’ Club.
Half-time brings even more to look forward to, with the usual Hit The Bar challenge joined by a special appearance from Everton legend Peter Reid.
He’ll be reunited on the pitch with his former Huyton Boys teammates for the first time in 55 years, marking a historic moment. Back in 1971, the under-15s side made history at Goodison Park, becoming the first non-city team to win the English Schoolboys Final.
Saturday’s fixture promises to be more than just a derby, with a full day of entertainment aimed at making it a great family day out.
