easyJet has today announced it will launch a new route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) to City of Derry airport; not only a brand-new service from Liverpool but also a brand new destination on easyJet’s network.

The new flights are set to take off for the first time from 4 November 2024 and easyJet will operate them twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays all year-round.

The new route to the second largest city in Northern Ireland will be the fifth new service the airline has added to its Liverpool network in the last 12 months, following new flights being introduced to Malta, Enfida in Tunisia, Hurghada in Egypt and the Greek island of Corfu.

City of Derry airport, which lies on the west bank of the River Foyle is home of Ireland’s only completely intact historic Walled City, the Derry Girls, a vibrant food scene, award winning museums and plenty to discover where the Wild Atlantic Way meets the Causeway Coastal Route.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said:

“We are delighted to be announcing a new route from Liverpool, to City of Derry airport, a brand new destination for easyJet , which will appeal to leisure and business customers alike.

“This new and exciting destination in our network provides our customers from across the North West with even greater choice and connectivity this year all with great value fares and friendly service, and we look forward to welcoming them on board.”

“We are delighted to announce another new easyJet route, this time to City of Derry, providing us with another popular link to Northern Ireland.

“With more than one million passengers flying between Liverpool to Derry over the past few years, we are confident that easyJet will be a successful partner on the route and look forward to reconnecting both cities.”

easyJet now bases seven aircraft at LJLA, flying around 2 million passengers a year, offering up to 340 flights each week to 27 destinations.

easyJet was founded in the UK launching operations nearly 30 years ago and since then has flown over 800 million customers and is set to operate 100m annual seats this year. The airline now serves 21 UK airports offering over 500 routes from the UK to over 120 destinations in 30 countries across Europe and beyond.

Customers can now book convenient and direct great value fares starting from just £17.99* from Liverpool, now available to book on easyJet.com and via the mobile app.
