easyJet celebrates first flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Split, Croatia

easyJet, is celebrating its first flight and package holidays to Split in Croatia, a brand-new destination in its Liverpool network.
The inaugural flight took off yesterday afternoon for the first time and is one of eight new routes supported this summer by the arrival of an eighth aircraft, supporting 400 direct and indirect jobs. The latest easyJet route will continue to operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays all year round.
As the largest city on the Croatian coast and a history going back to the Roman period, Split offers something for everyone. From ancient ruins to chic shops and open-air flea markets, there’s plenty to be explore, as well as its nearby stunning Adriatic coastline, home to pretty beaches and tranquil turquoise waters.
This summer, package holiday provider easyJet holidays will see holidaymakers departing from Liverpool opt for popular beach and city destinations including Amsterdam, Antalya, Dalaman, Mallorca, Sharm El-Sheikh, and now, new package holidays to Spilt.

The arrival of Liverpool’s eighth Airbus A320neo aircraft enables the airline to offer even more choice and great value for money for flights and package holidays for customers in the North-West.
Over the past 12 months, easyJet has continued to grow its network at the airport, having launched eight new routes from Liverpool including Malta, Fuerteventura, Prague, Berlin, Marrakesh, City of Derry, Sharm el Sheikh, and Split.
easyJet is operating its biggest ever summer and biggest ever UK flying programme this year, with seven additional Airbus A320 family aircraft joining its UK-based fleet. This means there will be more than 33 million seats operating to and from the UK this summer, half a million more than last year with 44 new routes and three brand new destinations taking off from the UK this summer season.

easyJet launched services from Liverpool for the first time in October 1997, with flights to Nice, Amsterdam and Geneva where it now bases seven Airbus A320 family aircraft – with an eighth to be delivered this summer – and employs nearly 400 people including Pilots, Cabin Crew and Engineers.
Today, the airline operates up to 328 flights a week, offering 31 routes to 15 countries across Europe and North Africa and has flown over 53 million customers since operations began.
