Edge Lane developers, Vistry partnerships sponsor local football team
4 years ago
House builder Vistry Partnerships has sponsored the Michael Corless Soccer School’s under 12 team as part of their efforts to support grassroots community initiatives.
The team, who play in the Belle Vale Junior League, form part of the wider Soccer School which provides children across Merseyside with the chance to play football. The academy also offers after school and holiday coaching programmes for children.
The sponsorship comes as Vistry Partnerships continue work on their Edge Lane development in the area which will see 145 affordable houses and apartments built on behalf of local housing association Liverpool Mutual Homes.
Vistry Partnership’s Managing Director for the North West, Ian Hilliker, said:
“We’re always looking for ways to get involved in the local community so when we heard the Under 12 team needed some new kits we were more than happy to help. At Vistry Partnerships we put the community at the heart of every development so this was just a small way for us to give something back.”
Ashley Hughes from Michael Corless Soccer School said:
“I’m thrilled Vistry Partnerships made this donation for a new kit ahead of the start of the season. The old kits were a bit worn out, but now we have brand new shirts and the kids are ready to get out on the pitch and enjoy themselves.”
Plans for the Edge Lane development were approved by Liverpool City Council in 2018 with the site due to be complete in 2021. The project forms part of the Liverpool Housing Partnership which aims to create 1,500 new homes across Merseyside.
