The Ellesmere Port Market Comic Con is back on Saturday 25 January from 10am to 4pm. The free event is being held in the Flea Market area of the market.
Expect to meet a number of characters during the day including a first outing for new mascot “Toad” from Super Mario at The Ellesmere Port Market Comic Con.
There will be merchandise stalls from returning traders plus some new traders.Â
There will be a popular cosplay competition with prizes to be won at 2.30pm that is open to all age groups to dress as their favourite character. There will also be backdrops to pose by for your own photos.
Councillor Nathan Pardoe, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Economy, Regeneration and Digital Transformation, said:
“The Comic Con has been one of the most popular events at Ellesmere Port Market, so it’s fitting that this year they are the first event of the year and also mark the start of the transformation works. Â
“This is a big year for Ellesmere Port Market as the transformation works get underway, but the market will remain open throughout. If you visit the market regularly, please keep going, and if you’ve never been before it’s a great time to visit and support the traders.”
Shoppers will be asked to follow the signs as some entrances will be closed temporarily as the work is undertaken.
The Ellesmere Port Market transformation is one part of a larger town centre, government funded project including a new active travel route from the train station, public realm improvements around the market and site preparation for new low carbon family housing.
