English Spa of the Year Award for Portland Hall Spa in Southport

Portland Hall Spa in Southport has won the title English Hair and Beauty Awards Spa of the Year 2022.

This is the third time the beautiful spa, which is situated on Portland Street in Southport, has won this prestigious award since 2017.

The family-owned business, which employs 30 people, was opened in 2005 on the site of a magnificent former Synagogue.

Portland Hall Spa Director Lyn Siddle said “I am completely overwhelmed to have won again, more so because this award is given after a public vote.

“My team is absolutely incredible and I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and passion for the business.

“Hospitality is one of the hardest areas in which to work, and customers can be exacting, so to have won this award again is quite something.”

Portland Hall Spa prides itself on providing “a fantastic environment in which people can enjoy time together, take time out to lounge, relax, unwind and be pampered from morning to night.”

The venue offers traditional and holistic treatments for both men and women, for body and soul, as well as beauty treatments, restaurant and a spa bar.

There isn’t another spa quite like it in the UK. Portland Hall Spa has a unique emphasis on personal space and relaxation. Clients have exclusive use of the candlelit spa pool for themselves or their group, at which they are waited on with fresh fruit and drinks at their request.

The spa prides itself on being different, taking the client through a journey perhaps planned around lunch, or a particular flow of treatments. The goal is to offer a form of escapism that leads to relaxation, ensuring that guests enjoy their journey through this very beautiful building.

As an independent PAYOT Day Spa its focus is on facials and body massage.

As winners of the English Hair & Beauty Awards in 2017, 2019 and now 2022, and finalists in the British Health & Beauty Awards and the Good Spa Guide Awards, Portland Hall Spa has high standards to live up to!

Parking is available within the Spa grounds subject to availability.

London-born entrepreneur Lyn Siddle has run the award-winning spa for nearly two decades.

She bought the historic building in 2004 and it took a further 18 months of fundraising and conversions before she opened the doors of the Portland Hall Spa.

The landmark can trace its history back to 1865 as a Quaker hall before the Jewish community took over in 1954 and opened it as a Synagogue.

Portland Hall Spa is situated at 17a Portland Street, Southport PR8 1LR. Visit their website here.
