EPIC has announced the launch of its latest venture and first restaurant offering – Mason’s Kitchen & Bar.
Located on Seel Street, in the heart of the city’s thriving Ropewalks district, Mason’s Kitchen & Bar opened its doors to the public this weekend delivering relaxed all-day dining in contemporary surroundings.

Established in 2012 by Simon and Fiona Beer, EPIC is the region’s fastest-growing independent hospitality group with a portfolio of properties offering a mix of apartments, aparthotels and its most recent offering – Seel Street Hotel by EPIC – which opened in December 2018 in partnership with the Elliot Group.
The 120-cover restaurant is the group’s first dedicated restaurant operation and will be open daily from 7am until late, serving a varied menu from breakfast through to after dinner cocktails in the sophisticated drinks lounge. There will also be a breakfast DJ and various live performances each month for guests to enjoy.
The concept is inspired by Simon and Fiona’s own family – who wanted to create a warm environment that encourages people to get together around a table sharing food and celebrating every occasion.
Head chef Ian Stott, previously from London’s Connaught and Ritz hotels, has developed a debut menu focused on delivering European-inspired cuisine from sharing platters and classic cuts, to a selection of stone baked pizzas and indulgent desserts.
Signature dishes include the EPIC platter featuring cured Italian meats, Nduja sausage and Serrano ham, served with Cornish Yarg, Stilton and Golden Cross cheeses, caramelised onion hummus, sun blushed tomatoes, beetroot relish, breads and cheese biscuits. There will also be a classic Tomahawk grill to share, served with a watercress and rocket salad, grilled tomato, balsamic onions and thick cut chips.
Desserts are not to be missed and include a moreish chocolate brownie served with salted caramel, peanut butter and a raspberry and mint compote.
Cocktail favourites grace the generous menu with stylish serves such as the Mason’s Margarita – Jose Cuervo tequila, blue curacao, lemon and egg white, as well as the indulgent Pink Elephant, comprising Ginsmiths’ marshmallow gin, Chambord, peach schnapps and cream.
Located in one of the most energetic areas of the city puts Mason’s Kitchen in the heart of the action. Simon Beer, managing director of EPIC group, explains: “The variety of operations in this part of the city is unquestionable. We wanted to create a place where everyone feels welcome, from families with young children and groups of friends, to those visiting Liverpool for a weekend wanting a slice of its vibrant culture accompanied by our warm hospitality.

“With a personable, refreshing atmosphere, our menu is a relaxed mix of dishes – much like you would find around the table at home. We are very much looking forward to welcoming guests and hope our offering will deliver something special for the city.”
