Eurovision road closures: What roads will be closed in Liverpool during the contest

Of course there will be road closures in Liverpool during Eurovision to ensure we all stay safe – here’s what you need to know.
It’s all happening. Eurovision has arrived in Liverpool with loads of events and attractions around the main Song Contest action set to begin at the M&S Bank Arena.
We’re absolutely buzzing as the stars and the hosts head into town, and the fun begins.
There does have to be a bit of planning and organisation to make sure everyone’s safe and to enable the events to go ahead, which means a few road closures.
The big advice from us is to get the train with Merseyrail. There are timetable and station changes so please check before you travel. Visit the website HERE.

Eurovision village
Road closures and traffic diversions will be in place, in and around the Pier Head area following the opening of the EuroVillage between May 5 and 13.
Canada Boulevard
Now until 5pm on Friday, May 19 – from Brunswick St to Isle of Man gates and partial closure of Water Street
Now until 11.59pm on Tuesday, May 16 – from Brunswick St to Mann Island and partial Water Street Closure
Mann Island
Now until 11.59pm on Tuesday, May 16 (with 24-hour access to residents/deliveries before 10am)Â
Georges Dock
Now until 11.59pm on Tuesday, May 16 (with 24-hour access to residents/deliveries before 10am)
Brunswick Street
Now until 11.59pm on Tuesday, May 16 – from Georges Dock to Canada Boulevard.
St Nicholas Place
Now until 11.59pm on Tuesday, May 16 (Adjacent to Liver Buildings)
Water Street
Now until 11.59pm on Tuesday, May 16 – from The Strand to Canada Boulevard)
*There will be the capacity to close the Strand in both directions between Chapel St and James St for about 10 minutes post-event each night between 2200-0100.

Cuerdan Street – Monday, May 1, 6am to Wednesday, May 10 at 12 noon
Commutation Row, from London Road to Camden Street – Thursday, May 4, 00.01 to Tuesday, May 9, at 11.59pm
Lord Nelson Street from exit Lime Street Station to Lime St – Now until Monday, May 8 at 11.59pm
Camden Street will become 2-way for resident access – now until Tuesday, May 9 at 11:59pm
Lime Street from Commutation Row to St Georges Place – Sunday, May 7 at 00:01 to Monday, May 8 at 6am
St Johns Lane from St Georges Place to Victoria Street – Sunday, May 7 at 00.01 to Monday, May 8 at 6am
London Road from Lime Street to Seymour Street – Sunday, May 7 at 00.01 to Monday, May 8 at 6am
