Everton fans cruise across Lake Michigan for a night to remember in Chicago
20 hours ago

Everton fans from across the globe swapped stadium seats for sunset views this week, as almost 450 Blues set sail for an unforgettable evening on Lake Michigan.
Departing from Chicago’s famous Navy Pier, the Spirit of Chicago cruise brought together Everton fans from North America, the UK and beyond for a unique fan experience – all in celebration of Everton’s 2025 Premier League Summer Series tour.
The sold-out event was hosted by Everton Football Club and presented by official timing partner Christopher Ward, who added a splash of sophistication to the night with a specially curated display of luxury watches and behind-the-scenes insights into their design.

It was an evening filled with stories, songs and surprises, with Everton captain Seamus Coleman leading the guest line-up. The skipper spent time meeting fans, signing shirts and taking selfies before sitting down for a Q&A with the Club’s Darren Griffiths. Reflecting on his journey in royal blue, Coleman spoke from the heart about his time at Goodison, the emotional bond he shares with fans, and his gratitude for the unwavering support he’s felt throughout his career.
Joining him on board were Leighton Baines and Alan Irvine from the Club’s first-team coaching staff, who offered a behind-the-scenes look at life at Finch Farm and their time playing under former boss David Moyes. Club ambassador Graham Stuart and Everton Giant Adrian Heath added their own memories to the mix, with ‘Inchy’ even sparking a singalong on deck that could probably be heard across the water.

Also among the special guests was stadium architect Dan Meis, who has become a firm fan favourite since designing Everton’s new home at Bramley-Moore Dock. Meis took to the microphone on the top deck to speak about how Chicago’s skyline has influenced his designs, and how personal the Bramley-Moore project has become to him. His emotional connection to the club shone through as he explained how the stadium is more than just steel and seats – it’s part of Everton’s soul.
In a surprise twist, Meis was presented with the Trailblazer Award by the North American Toffees. Presented by Chair Tony Sampson, the award recognises non-playing figures who’ve helped champion Everton’s presence in the US. Meis joins an exclusive list of honourees including lifelong Blue and club historian Dr David France.

The Chicago Cruise is one of several events on the club’s packed US tour schedule aimed at deepening connections with Evertonians in North America. From Q&As with legends to soccer schools and pre-match parties, the Blues have brought a real community feel to this summer’s series.
Whether you’re in Chicago, Atlanta or following along from home, the Premier League Summer Series is shaping up to be a proper celebration of what it means to be part of the Everton family – wherever you are in the world.
