Everton in the Community to offer free heart health checks in mass screening event for supporters at Goodison
5 months ago
Evertonians are the beating heart of Everton Football Club, and now Everton in the Community is extending its dedication to its supporters and local residents with a unique opportunity to prioritise heart health.
As part of its ongoing commitment to empowering its communities towards better health, Everton’s official charity, Everton in the Community (EitC) is offering free heart health checks to anyone over the age of 40.
This initiative aims to identify suspected cardiovascular conditions early, enabling quicker diagnosis and treatment.
In collaboration with Pumping Marvellous, the UK’s leading heart failure charity, EitC will host this essential screening event on Wednesday, July 17, and Thursday, July 18, from 10am to 2pm.
Supporters and local residents can attend the event at the Park End reception, where they will be greeted upon arrival. No sign-up is required; attendees can simply turn up on the day, although it’s important to note that queues are likely.
Event Details:
- Dates:Â Wednesday, July 17, and Thursday, July 18
- Time:Â 10am – 2pm
- Location:Â Park End reception, Goodison Park
- Who Can Attend:Â Anyone over the age of 40
As a token of appreciation, everyone who participates in the heart health screening will be entered into a prize draw to win one of the following prizes*:
- Stadium tour for two people
- Match ticket for the first home game of the 24/25 season
- 24/25 adult home shirt
Upon arrival, attendees will be asked to fill out a simple questionnaire before undergoing a non-invasive blood pressure and heart rhythm check. If necessary, further investigations can be carried out on the day.
This event is especially vital for those experiencing symptoms such as breathlessness, exhaustion, or ankle swelling.
Heart failure affects over one million people in the UK, with Merseyside having higher-than-average cases. However, heart failure is treatable, and early detection significantly improves outcomes.
Everton in the Community encourages anyone over the age of 40 to take advantage of this free heart health check. By doing so, you’re not only prioritizing your health but also standing in solidarity with your fellow Evertonians in the fight against heart disease.
