Everton wants your views on the new stadium plans

The first phase of public consultation into Everton Football Club’s plans to regenerate North Liverpool by building an iconic new stadium next to the River Mersey and leaving a legacy at Goodison Park are drawing to a close.

Residents of the city region have been urged to seek out one of the final People’s Project consultation events of the first phase or visit peoples-project.co.uk to ensure their views go on to influence the Club’s thinking as it prepares to submit its planning applications.

Since mid-November, Club representatives along with people drawn from its project team, have been touring the city region to gather views of football and non-football fans alike.

Stadium Development Director Colin Chong said: “We have had an overwhelming response to our consultation and I’d encourage anybody who has an interest in either Everton Football Club or the continued progress of the city region, to come along or go online and let us know your thoughts.

“There are just a handful of events left in this first stage and we very much look forward to hearing from many more of you until we close in Crosby on Monday.”

This series of public consultation events is a pre-curser to a second-stage consultation which will take place next summer. It is at this stage where detailed designs of the proposed stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock and high-level plans of a legacy at Goodison Park will be revealed.

The Club intends to submit a detailed planning application for the stadium in the second half of 2019 and, at the same time, an outline planning application for the redevelopment of Goodison Park.
