There’s plans for a proper scouse welcome as Disney Magic cruise ship returns to the city this Friday (7th September) for its 4th visit. The free, family friendly garden party kicks off at 4pm, the perfect after school treat after the first week back and features a whole programme of fun.
Disney Magic on the Mersey 2017 was attended by more than 20,000 people and was awarded Tourism Event of the Year at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.
The annual arrival of the Disney Magic cruise ship has quickly become a star attraction for Princes Dock, which is owned and operated by Peel Land and Property as part of the Liverpool Waters project. In addition to the enchanted events, Liverpool Waters will also be hosting Dragon Boat Racing throughout the same day at Princes Dock, so keep your eyes peeled for them too!
Fancy dress costumes at the ready, here’s 8 things you need to know about Disney Magic on the Mersey…….

The huge Disney Magic cruise ship deserves an equally impressive musical soundtrack and this year, you can pick a deckchair in front of a beautiful Victorian bandstand! There’s live performances from the Liverpool Ukulele Orchestra, Liverpool Shanty Kings and more, from 4pm.
5 – Food For Thought
All those singalongs and dancing can be hard work so why not head to the pop up food court and tuck into freshly prepared food from the likes of pizza, crepes, candy floss, ice cream, sushi, fish and chips and more. The food court is open from 11am until 8pm.
6 – Liverpool’s Princess
This year’s event charity is Claire House and making a very special appearance is none other than Claire Bear. Grab a selfie and throw what change you can spare in the charity bucket, all proceeds help Claire House to reach children and families in need, in Merseyside.
7 – Dress to Impress
There are competitions running throughout the Disney Magic on the Mersey celebrations so make sure you don your best Disney costume and look out our Claire Simmo and the scouts. From Princesses to superheroes, villains to cheeky woodland characters, which one will you be?
8 – Sail Away with a Smile
Disney Magic will be setting off on the final leg of its journey to Dover at 7:45pm on Friday evening. We’ll be lining the waterfront and hoping for a stunning sunset to wish her a safe onward journey.
