Everything you need to know about Maggie’s Fest 2024
4 months ago
Bands Eden, Creakin’ Gates, and Scousers from Peru will be among the live acts performing for the first time this year.
The new acts will join the musical line-up for this year’s Maggie’s Fest, with just a month to go to the now-annual event.
And the entertainment is on top of a host of family-friendly activities for the festival being held at Brimstage Farm, Wirral on Saturday, September 7, including great new games like giant football darts and farmyard croquet, a barrel ride adventure, and a new outdoor play area.
Around 1,300 people attended the inaugural event last year, raising a staggering £15,000 for the cancer charity which offers support for people with the disease and their families.
Centre fundraiser Sarah Burgess says this year’s Maggie’s Fest looks set to be better than ever.
She says: “Maggie’s Fest 2023 was a huge success for us. We were able to bring the local community together for an affordable family fun day, with fantastic opportunities for local performers and business owners, as well as raise funds and awareness for Maggie’s so we can continue to support people with cancer.
“We welcomed people from all over Merseyside and Cheshire and we are hoping we can do the same again this year.”
Sarah adds: “We truly appreciate Jo, Rob, and the Brimstage staff for all their support. And we can’t wait to host this incredible event again.
“We hope it will be even bigger and better than last year!’’
Kathy Wright, centre head, adds: “We were overwhelmed with how many people attended the 2023 event and we are extremely thankful to Brimstage for continuing to support Maggie’s in this way.
“We’re currently supporting 78% of the local population of newly-diagnosed people with cancer, along with people currently living with and beyond cancer. The support from Maggie’s Fest and Brimstage Farm will mean we can continue to make a significant difference to those who need us most.”
