First look at the new K1 Metal Club which opens later this month
6 months ago
It’s been too long since Liverpool has had a dedicated Metal & Rock venue and out of the ashes of The Krazyhouse comes K1 Metal Club. Open Every Saturday from Saturday 29th June.
This new space, involving a dedicated and talented team which dates back to The Krazyhouse’ early days and until more recent times, will be all about embracing metal and rock music. Fans have made their feelings known and demanded that it was time that they had a place to call their home.
The original Krazyhouse on Wood Street, which is now the home to Electrik Warehouse, left behind a musical legacy which lives long in the memory of music fans, having played host to some of the nation’s leading bands before they became huge deals, including Korn, Placebo, Oasis, Radiohead and Stone Temple Pilots. It also developed a reputation which attracted partygoers from far and wide too, with its easygoing attitude and ‘anything goes’ vibe.
This new incarnation at K1 Metal Club has involved a conversion of the former Camel Club, also on Wood Street, just a few hundred yards up from the original home of the Krazy House.
A spokesperson for K1 Metal Club said:
“We’re amazed with the feedback online so far, the support has been quite overwhelming with positive comments of how excited people are. We’ve had all ages messaging us telling us that they can’t wait to visit as soon as we are open. It feels amazing to give Liverpool a metal venue again!
To start off with, we are only planning on opening on Saturdays, but we’re hoping it won’t be too long until we can open more often. We are already looking at other nights and working out ideas. The refurb has gone to plan and we are happy with the look of the new K1 site. We have the option to expand into more rooms also which we will look at in a few months time. ”
K1 Metal Club is located at 18 Wood Street Liverpool L1 4AQ.
The launch event is on Saturday 29th June 2024, doors open at 3 pm – Sunday 30th June at 4:00am.
