This spring will see the opening of a new luxury hotel, restaurant, bar, and spa in the heart of Liverpoolâs bustling commercial district, a short stroll from Lime Street and Moorfield railway stations.
Opening in May, The Municipal Liverpool hotel is joining MGallery, Accor Groupâs luxury boutique-hotel brand, and will take residence in a Grade II listed heritage building from the mid-19th on the cityâs vibrant Dale Street and combine stylish, modern opulence with historic charm.Â
Managed by leading hotel management company, RBH Hospitality, the iconic listed building will span four floors and feature 179 luxurious rooms, with considered design references throughout that pay homage to the buildingâs rich heritage of French and Italian influences. Design will play a leading role at The Municipal Liverpool – MGallery, with many of the buildingâs existing materials and features refreshed to create elegant new focal points.
Reminders of the buildingâs past life as a council building will also remain visible throughout the space, from a series of 7-foot-tall statues on the façade, to vintage phones and library style desks indoor. Reinventing a landmark of Liverpoolâs heritage, the high point of the hotel is the buildingâs iconic clocktower, visible from across the city, that has also been carefully restored to bring it back to full working order and catches the guestsâ attention on time.
The hotelâs rooms range from generously sized doubles to impressive suites with views of the vibrant Liverpool cityscape. Timeless charm meets modern luxury in each space, with warming palettes of earthy tones and opulent textures coming together to create beautiful sanctuaries in the heart of a bustling city. Each of the spacious and sophisticated rooms will feature sumptuous King or Queen size beds, plus modern luxuries such as lavishly stocked minibars and bathroom amenities from luxury lifestyle brand, Culti.
While in the bedrooms emphasis is placed on creating a sense of serenity and calm, the restaurant and bar spaces will retain the fun and energy for which this part of the city is so well known.Guests will be welcomed from morning right through to the small hours, with indulgent all-day menus that place an emphasis on championing local makers and celebrating the spirit of Liverpool. The central Palm Court bar and lounge will sit in the heart of the hotel, with a state-of-the-art bar taking central stage and live music set to dazzle visitors on selected days. Presenting a sleek design, specially curated artwork and continental feel, the space has been created to bring people together. During the day, The Botanic Tea Room will serve beautifully crafted drinks, patisseries and afternoon tea options for guests and visitors, featuring herbs and plants from around the world.
Other notable features include impressive wellness areas incorporating a swimming pool, sauna and steam room, fitness area, treatment rooms, Laconicum, salon and spa, filled with luxurious products from leading British skincare brand, Elemis and premium beauty brand, Grown Alchemist. Guests will be truly spoilt for choice with the hotel offering the ultimate relaxation experience to indulge in, allowing for a calming and peaceful retreat from everyday stresses.
The hotel will also benefit from six large, state of the art boardrooms, each available for hire and named after Liverpoolâs iconic âquartersâ â Ropewalks, Baltic, Cavern, Waterfront and Georgian Quarter.
