First of its kind college opens in Liverpool with open days happening throughout summer
2 years ago
A new world-class college has opened in Liverpool following an exciting partnership between local academy, LILA* and globally-renowned London-based David Game College.
Based in the city centre, David Game College Liverpool will prepare students for entry to higher education by offering a focused range of A-Level and University Foundation Programmes (UFP), both with the option of adding on an elite football coaching programme from Steven Gerrard Academy. Steven Gerrard is also sponsoring two generous scholarships worth ÂŁ25,000 each for two students aged 16-18 in the Merseyside area.
Established in 1974, David Game College is one of the most successful independent co-educational colleges in London, with a reputation for its high level of expertise and a dedication to a more tailored, unique and individualised approach to learning. Its UFP is recognised by over 90 universities internationally.
Equally, LILA* is an industry-leading independent English language academy, providing high level teaching to students from across the globe for almost two decades. The partnership means it is the first David Game campus outside of the south of England.
Tom Davis, principal at David Game College Liverpool, said:
“LILA* has been around for 18 years and has been characterised by a passion for building a skillset that can take students out into the world as successful members of whatever community they come from. David Game College’s roots, which are in the tutorial system, are also focused on allowing students to be the best version of themselves, so our alliance with LILA* just seemed like a natural partnership.
“What we want is for this partnership to produce opportunities for students that open doors and possibilities in their own minds that they may not have considered before.
“Liverpool is an incredibly vibrant student city, and I believe that opportunities should be the same regardless of where you live and where you come from, and that very much ties in with the David Game College values and ethos.”

“David Game College has got a fantastic reputation. They have been going since 1974 and deliver courses with integrity and a real high level of expertise. They are very inclusive and they make sure students have the opportunity to be the best they can be in a relaxed environment.
“LILA* is the first David Game campus outside of the south of England, and there is nothing like David Game here in the Liverpool city region – it is a positive, supportive and inclusive place for a student to take their first steps. For that reason, we think we can bring something special to the city and wider city region.
“At David Game Liverpool College, what we want to do is make sure that students can flourish here. We want to make sure that we bring out the very best in our students.”
David Game College Liverpool is situated within LILA*’s existing campus at New Barratt House on North John Street in the city centre. First intake of students is in September, 2022.
