Folk Festival on the Dock kicks off this bank holiday weekend and while there are tonnes of amazing acts performing in some unusual venues until the early evening, there’s also loads of fun to be had by the kids during the day.

Explore Tate Liverpool with a whole host of fun, creative activities including the Sunday Comedy Club, where families are invited to bring along ideas which can be shaped into acts of poetry, singing or stand up! Join a summer of creative craft fun inspired by tales of Titanic, fearsome pirates and monsters of the deep at Merseyside Maritime Museum.
Commissioned to mark the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic, Titanic & Liverpool: The Untold Story is a compelling exhibition that explores Liverpool’s central role in the Titanic story that will capture the imagination of even the youngest visitors.
And if that wasn’t enough sticking and glueing for your little ones , how about creating colourful crafts inspired by the International Slavery Museum’s exhibitions in the free fun family workshops? More details available here.
Bust Some Moves
The Beatles Story is hosting a mega quiz in their Chill Out zone, so how about heading on down to bust some moves and test your knowledge with the kids? The workshop will run between 2 and 4pm on bank holiday Monday. More info here.
Ziferblat coffee shop is hosting ‘Folk by the Minute’ and what better way to chill out with a coffee, let the kids play board games and boogie on down while you take in a live gig? All the details here.

Burn Off Some Energy
Ok so not all kids are arty or like The Beatles (the horror!) but dont worry there are plenty of other activities to get involved in, including the traditional fairground rides at Hartley Quay, the grassy bank behind Mermaid House is ideal for a kick around or kite flying, and of course there’s the brilliant Mattel Play where Thomas and Friends, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam are all under one roof. There is so much choice for family dining at The Albert Dock, whether its fish and chips on the grass or making your own pizzas at Gusto, there is something for everyone.
