Fundraising event Wild Night Out aims to raise £18k in support of Claire House Children’s Hospice
4 years ago

This Saturday, Thornton Hall Hotel will welcome guests to Wild Night Out, a fundraising event in memory of Elliot Wild’s 18th birthday, aiming to raise £18,000 in support of Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Elliot captured the hearts of the region with his brave fight against leukemia, passing away aged nine in 2011.
Elliot’s parents, Jackie and Ian, and his brother Finlay, are dedicated to ensuring other seriously or terminally ill children and their families receive as much support as possible from Claire House, which is currently only able to reach only 1-in-2 families.
So far, Elliot’s family have raised an incredible £372,000 with The Claire House Cup, an annual event which celebrates Elliot’s passion for football. Elliot was talent spotted aged five by Everton Football Club and played through the EFC football development programme before he became ill, although Elliot was a devoted LFC fan!
The latest event, initially inviting 150 attendees and now with over 400 tickets sold in only two days, will be hosted by The Guide Liverpool’s Jay Hynd and Claire Simmo to raise #18for18 featuring an auction with a difference, as generous Wild Night Out guests are invited to bid towards securing staff at the facility with the simple gesture of skipping one round of drinks.
In what’s set to be a spectacular celebration in memory of Elliot, guests can also take part in Gold and Silver raffles for their chance to win a holiday to New York or Budapest.
Claire House provides specialist nursing care and emotional support from staff including nurses, physiotherapists, play specialists, counsellors and dedicated doctors who visit the hospice. Along with specialist treatment, the organisation offers facilities and experiences for the children, their parents and siblings to relax and enjoy themselves, along with home visits and regular trips.
