Going Out Guide: What fun can be had this weekend in Liverpool?
It’s weekend o’clock people and if you are up for getting dolled up and heading into town then this is the article for you.
Not only do we have the biggest club classics festival in the UK happening in the form of Reminisce this Saturday, but there is also a feast of incredible food, cocktails and full on parties happening across the city too. Whatever you fancy doing there really is something for everyone, so get the dancing shoes, get the rollers in and get planning.
What’s On?
Reminisce 2017
We have only one event to shout about this weekend and that is Reminisce. Back bigger and better for 2017 with more classic dance acts and DJ’s than you’ll find on a Now CD album. The party starts at 12pm Saturday in Sherdley Park, St Helens and you’ll be raving to the likes of Technotronic, Snap!, Eve Gallagher, Livin’ Joy, Love Inc, Tall Paul, Judge Jules, Lee Butler & Anton Powers. This year the all new Quadrant Park Arena will be unveiled as will the new Gin Garden & Prosecco Garden too.
The last remaining tickets are available at reminiscefestival.com but you need to be quick! After parties happening across the city too in the likes of Hangar 34 and Brickworks on Eberle Street.
To Dine…
Love Thy Neighbour, Bold Street
The team at this Bold Street favourite believe in making you feel good. From healthy smoothies to Big Buddah Bowls their menu is tailored to be tasty yet nutritional. The restaurant has just had a full kitchen upgrade and launched a delicious new menu, perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner with the likes of Marinated Paravian Style Chicken to their Vegetarian Pandang Red Curry. Go try!
Baltic Market, Baltic Triangle
The team at Baltic Market continue their reign of the Baltic Triangle with their selection of local independent pop up food stalls. The halloumi fries from Octopus have taken Liverpool Insta stories by storm and this weekend it’s not just food on the agenda as the Hobo Bazaar Market is there on Sunday from 11am.
Check out their Facebook for more info here.
London Carriageworks, Hope Street
Fancy treating yourself or your other half to a classy night out on Hope Street? London Carriageworks serves up delicious British classics all locally sourced. OK so prices are a bit steeper than other venues we might shout about, but trust us now it is worth every single penny. Stunning surroundings, superb service and truly delicious food. For starters you could try the Chorizo & Squid Risotto and for the main course how about Chateaubriand for two served up with grilled baby tomatoes, buttered broccoli, triple cooked chips. Get glammed up and get booking.

Maray, Allerton Road/ Bold Street
If you still haven’t tried Maray then you simply need to get it sorted. Now two locations to choose from, the original venue at the top of Bold Street or the newer and larger unit on Allerton Road. Small plates of some the freshest and tastiest food you’ll find on Merseyside, mixed up with hand crafted cocktails perfect for your weekend. We’d defo advise on going for the cauliflower with flaked almonds & pomegranate, the scallops with salt cod & almonds and you’ll never have lamb kofta like it. Finish it off with the raspberry & white chocolate bread & butter pudding and you are sorted!
Gino’s, Castle Street
The latest addition to the Liverpool food scene has been brought to us by everyone’s favourite Italian Chef, Gino D’Campo. The decor is incredible and the atmosphere is perfect for the weekend. You can sip cocktails or prosecco in the Belini Bar before tucking into some of the finest and freshest Italian cuisine in the city.
