Liverpool’s Haus of Fun are gearing up for a weekend of pride celebrations with a two day extravaganza across the city.
We caught up with Reece Myles, head of operations for the group’s Stanley Street venues, ahead of who said:
“It’s so important that we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and stand together to support each other.”
“Nothing is going to stop us.
“We are going to push forward with events and celebrations in the Pride Quarter.
“It’s going to be non-stop fun with drag queens, tribute acts, DJs, karaoke, games, and more.
“This year’s Pride Weekend is going to be brilliant, and we’re really excited.”
A stage will be set up on one end of the road to allow different venues to put on their own shows and showcase their own acts.
Reece explained:
“Each bar will have an hour’s slot on the stage to allow for entertainment for the community in Liverpool and for those coming from outside the city.”
For Haus of Fun, that means all the favourites from the Benidorm Bar, Dysco, and Navy Bar 2.1 and, heading in from their Blundell Street base, those cabaret queens, the FunnyBoyz.
The entertainment will run until 11pm and, because Pride is very much an event for everyone, all the shows will be family-friendly.

Reece said:
“There’ll be flags and decorations – there’ll be no missing it if you’re there,” he smiles.
It’s not just the outdoor stage that will be set for fun, though.
From 11pm Pride will simply move inside, with Haus of Fun – hosted by FunnyBoyz owner Linda Gold – ramping up its iconic party nights for a fabulous Pride ‘night out with the gays and gals’.
Benidorm Bar, inspired by the TV comedy show, will be offering its cheesy brand of fun with DJs, Bingo, games like Spin The Wheel, and karaoke. Its resident tribute acts Shania Twain and Benidorm’s own Dolly Parton will be there too.
Dysco will be taking you back to the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s with DJs playing all your favourite tunes.
The cabaret will continue in the Navy Bar 2.1 with drag queens and DJs and, perhaps, hints Reece, a star appearance by the FunnyBoyz there too.
Reece added:
“We tried it recently and the audience loved it,”
“Regardless of what else is going to happen, the Haus of Fun and the Pride Quarter will be celebrating Pride Weekend.
“It’s all about standing together and looking out for each other, and having a good time. We’ll be silly, we’ll have fun and we’ll be partying into the early hours.
“I came to Liverpool in January and fell in love with the city. Whether you are in the LGBTQ+ community or not, it’s a village that’s shows kindness and supports each other.
“It’s my first Pride in Liverpool and I’m honoured to be part of that. We’re going to have a great weekend (and then we’ll all need a nap!).”
