Help bring Merseyside’s travelling time capsule to life
1 hour ago

A unique new cultural project is set to bring Merseyside’s history into the present — and preserve it for the future.
The Travelling Time Capsule will tour communities across the region with a series of photography exhibitions, showcasing powerful historical images and artefacts that tell the stories of local people and places. Visitors will be able to step back in time and see how their area has been shaped over the years.
At each stop, one artefact will be chosen to go into a real time capsule. Once complete, the capsule will be sealed and buried, leaving a piece of Merseyside’s shared story for future generations to uncover.
The project is being led by Rob Gough, who has launched a GoFundMe to help bring the Travelling Time Capsule to life.

Funds raised will go towards setting up the exhibitions, safely transporting artefacts and photographs, and sourcing the specialist preservation materials needed for the capsule itself.
Rob explained:
“This isn’t just about remembering the past — it’s about creating a legacy that future generations will one day uncover. I want people not only to look back, but to feel part of something that will continue forward in time.”
Every donation, no matter the size, will help make the project happen and ensure more people across Merseyside can get involved.
