Here are 10 things we love about La Tasca in Queen Square

OK so Summer is nearly out but there is one place in Liverpool where the Spanish sun literally shines seven days a week, 12 months a year.

How about extending those summer vibes with tasty tapas and fruity sangria?!

Give the lost luggage and flight delays a miss and simply head on down to the new look La Tasca, Queen’s Square, Liverpool, for an authentic taste of Spain.

The menu has had a huge overhaul, as has the décor and the brand spanking new dining area and sun-trap terrace is ready to welcome families, parties, friends and couples alike.

We met Moises Almenara inside the new look La Tasca to find out more – watch the video below.

Here’s our top ten reasons why we love the newly refurbished La Tasca…

The Old Classic favourite’s remain…

First of all, if you’re a lifelong fan of La Tasca and you don’t like change, fear not! The brand new menu has a section dedicated to the classic Spanish dishes that we all love and cherish. Mmmm patatas bravas anyone?

New dishes are bang on…

The new dishes are unbelievably good! To quote our fellow diners: “the Presa Iberica (succulent pork shoulder steak from Salamanca) is FIT.” There are also dishes to suit vegetarians plus gluten free and low calorie options.

Dining Al Fresco…

The fine weather is set to stay for the time being and the outdoor, accessible terrace at La Tasca is a fine spot for a lazy lunch or pre night out dinner. With no passing traffic noise, this spacious sun-trap could almost be Barcelona with a jug of Sangria or a pint of Mahou.

Fantastic bar menu…

And speaking of Mahou, La Tasca Liverpool has one of only 5 humongous Mahou pumps on their bar, this thing is huge and alongside super-skilled mixologist and barman Sam, the bar alone is a great pit stop before heading into the city.

The little ones are kept entertained…

The La Tasca team love to welcome families to the restaurant with colouring sheets and crayons for the little ones, plus mini tapas for £5.95 that includes a drink and dessert, winner!

You have got to love Churros…

Forget all those other reasons why we know you’ll love la Tasca, this is the only convincing you’ll ever need. One Word. Churros. If you have a sweet tooth this sharing plate of donut twists comes with strawberries, marshmallows and a chocolate dipping sauce…..and no one minds if you eat the whole thing yourself.

Stunning new decor…

The restaurant’s new look is pretty awesome. Brightly coloured furniture and a mix of tall stools and soft leather chairs makes for a really comfortable dining experience. The authentic Spanish posters and huge lightbulb signs make the large space feel fresh and modern.

Paella – WOW!

Now obviously we have to give the paella a mention. But a mention isn’t enough. It’s seriously good, and while the portions are generous we could’ve eaten it all night! Testament to its freshness and quality, we witnessed diners scrape every last grain of rice from the pans! Our recommendation: choose the Paella Valenciana for its chunky mix of seafood and chicken. Nom.

Live authentic Spanish entertainment…

As if starters of fresh breads, cold cut meats, a wealth of traditional and modern tapas AND paella wasn’t enough, La Tasca goes one step further with high energy, live flamenco and guitar performances while you dine. Talk about getting your money’s worth!

The bottom line…

The bottom line is the food is fantastic, the surroundings are perfect for chilling out and the range of drinks is extensive. None of this would come together without a first class team and each member of staff is passionate about Spanish cuisine, sharing their knowledge and making recommendations with confidence.
