Here’s 8 ways to spend the last week of the summer hols on Merseyside

The brand new school term is now in sight!
Parents, guardians and carers across the city region……congratulations we’ve made it to the last week of the summer hols 2017! We hope you’ve had an amazing August and made tonnes of memories at the many North West festivals, beaches, parks and attractions. With one week left to go, you might feel like you’ve run out of steam, but fear not we’ve got you covered.
Here’s 8 ways to spend the last week of the summer hols on Merseyside….
1 – Lace up for a summer of sport at Speke Hall
Tire the kids out with a summer of sport event at Speke Hall on Friday 1st September from 10:30am. The great range includes football, volleyball, rounders, Quick Cricket, table tennis, orienteering, Ultimate Frisbee with the Merseyside Ultimate Club, Arrows Archery, archery with Bridgefield Archers and Buggy Fit. 2 – Make your own Egyptian puppet at World Museum
The ancient Egyptians worshipped over 2000 different gods; some were even half human half animal! Come find out more and make your own Egyptian god puppet to take home. 1-4pm 2nd and 3rd September free drop in. More here.
3 – Magnet making, digital graffiti and more at Imagine That, Wavetree
This summer the Imagine That! theme is Animation Magic!! They’ve got some fab magnets to make including your favourite pirates, princesses, superheroes, despicable villains and even some trolls, monsters and cars! You can also meet and greet your favourite VIP animated guests. Activities available all day. More info here.
4 -Get your Liver Bird Wings, Baltic Triangle
Have you got your pic with the Liver Bird Wings down at Baltic Triangle? Artist Paul Curtis created this cult street art for everyone, but we’re not sure if the wall will remain in place, so get down there and get snappy! More here.
5 – Great deals on all day play at Otterspool Adventure Centre
For an action-packed, fun-filled day out, head down to Otterspool Adventure Centre and grab a combi ticket. One ticket get your little ones all day access to the Softplay barn, maze, trampoline’s and an AM or PM session in our Bouncy village, all for £10 per child! More into here.
6 – Go potty with clay at Victoria Gallery
Thursday 31st August is all about getting messy at Victoria Gallery, Ashton Street. Your little creative geniuses can make their own Stone Age pottery in this summer drop in session from 1-4pm…and its free! Info here.
7 – Calling all Grandparents, Museum of Liverpool needs you!
‘When I was little’ is a free activity for children aged 3 to 7 and their grandparents or older relatives to visit the museum and gallery together, exploring museum objects, and sharing stories and memories. Drop in from 10am til 5pm everyday. More info here.
8 – The Transformers Tour comes to Liverpool One
If your kids are into Transformers, this two day, free event at Liverpool One is unmissable! From 10am-5pm on 29th and 30th August your little dudes (and probably some loyal 80’s fans too) can immerse themselves in all things Cybertron Chronicles and help Sqweeks battle the Decepticons!
