It’s not surprising Liverpool is one of the top cities to visit.
From superb shopping and amazing culture, to thriving attractions and some of the best restaurants in the north west; there’s always tons going on and it doesn’t stop when the sun goes down – in fact, that’s just when we’re getting started!
Liverpool’s got a great nightlife whether you want a laugh – there’s some cracking comedy clubs – you want to dance, or you want to grab a bite to eat or drink.
There’s something Everyday – and Everynight – for Everyone – and here’s just five places you might want to get on your list brought to you by The Liverpool BID company as part of their TOWN campaign:
1. The Cavern Club
Does it actually need an introduction? Of course there’s a legacy of the Fab Four, but today’s Cavern is still a thriving live music destination which has seen some big names – The Rolling Stones, Queen, Elton John and Oasis – and continues to showcase new up-and-coming bands as well as established artists. There are three venues inside, the Cavern Club, Cavern Live Lounge and the Cavern Pub, serving up a schedule of great music – as well as the Cavern Club restaurant serving up great grills, fish and chips and, it goes without saying, the best bowl of Scouse.
2. McCooleys
McCooleys is a favourite Irish bar with venues in Mathew Street and Concert Square and there’s loads to love about them both, from live music, the best food and drink menu – think beers, whiskeys, classic cocktails and more! – and sports, all with an Irish twist. Open 8am till late, there are live acts every night and at weekends it’s definitely party time as McCooleys plays host to live bands and top DJs. It’s busy and lively, which makes it the perfect place to catch up with your mates or celebrate big-time.
3. Jimmy’s Bar
There’s not just one but three floors of Jimmy’s, at the top of Bold Street opposite the Bombed Out Church. It’s steeped in music history having once been home of the infamous Cabin Club, and it’s now making history of its own with live music and club nights throughout the week (and, with the World Cup around the corner, it’s showing England games on a large screen with a free pint on the house for you and your mates with every table ticket purchased!) Jimmy’s are bringing it home – but will the boys? It promises good beer, good music – good food again very soon! – and good times.
4. Tres
One of the latest venues to open in the Cavern Quarter, it was designed for one reason alone – and that’s to help you party in style. Tres is a super-sophisticated bar in Temple Court where it’s a must to dress up, get out, and pout! Cocktails flow along with high spirits, and resident DJs promise the best anthems, house music and disco.
5. Heaven
Guaranteed nightlife ‘heaven’, literally. Heaven is one of the liveliest LGBT-friendly nightclubs in the city, with DJs and weekend dance parties. Part of the Rubber Soul Bar Complex, there’s music from across the board from cheesy pop, chart and indie to EMD 7 days a week! It also boasts some of the best show nights and drag acts from around the world. Entertainment with a capital ‘E’!
