Here’s how the Metquarter is preparing to reopen from Monday 15 June
3 years ago

With non-essential shops set to open on Monday 15th June Metquarter has unveiled the steps it’s taken to ensure the centre is ready to safely welcome back visitors.
The centre is expecting steady footfall from Monday and is confident the safety measures in place will ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience in the centre.
Visual cues have been placed on the floor reminding everyone to maintain a 2m distance between other people and a one-way system has been put in place, making it easier and safer to enter and exit. Customer Service officers will be on patrol throughout to ensure the new safety measures are being followed.
An enhanced cleaning regime has also been introduced with the regular cleaning of all key customer touch points in the centre, hand sanitising stations have also been installed at the entry and exit points which all visitors will be encouraged to use.
Liverpool ONE, Liverpool BID, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, Liverpool City Council, Merseytravel and Merseyside Police have been working together to make the city as safe as possible when it re-opens. And new measures because of Covid-19 have been put in place to keep people safe and socially distanced, and the city clean.
Under the new banner, Love Your Liverpool, green and purple messaging will direct people to keep to the left, keep their distance and to act responsibly to keep everyone safe.

Jennina O’Neill, centre manager at Metquarter said:
“We’re thrilled to be able to welcome shoppers back to the Metquarter from Monday and we’ve been busy ensuring the centre is ‘Covid secure’. The health and well-being of our visitors and tenants remains our number one priority and we’re confident that everyone will be able to enjoy shopping with us once again. Although the shopping experience will feel different, we’re excited to be able to get back to some normality and offer people the chance to indulge in some retail therapy.”
All stores will have individual opening dates, the below will be reopening on 15th June:
- 200 Degrees (takeaway only)
- Kids Cavern

Metquarter will continue to monitor government advice and will adjust to accommodate any changes. Individual retailers have all carried out individual risk assessments to ensure they’re Covid secure ahead of reopening and have their own communication in store to remind shoppers of the safety measures in place.
