Hobo Kiosk to become the Baltic Triangle ‘local’ with pub Crowdfunder Campaign
7 years ago
Everyone’s favourite quirky shop, Hobo Kiosk is evolving and you’re going to love the plans!
Already well established as a treasure trove of weird and wonderful vintage homewares, clothes, records and oddities, plus a premier space for local artists to showcase and sell their work, Bridgewater Street based, Hobo Kiosk has long been a natural meeting place for those with creative flair and a passion for art.
Despite being a well known one stop shop for gifts and a good natter, there has been distinct lack of footfall in the area and the shop is now surrounded by apartments buildings rather than other shops. Proving their commitment to the area, Hobo Kiosk owners, Delia and Tristan Brady-Jacobs have launched an ambitious crowdfunder campaign to create Hobo Kiosk the Pub, a social place dedicated to the concept of community, with its own unique take on design, character, charm and good company.
Revamping the current shop, gaining licences and with a plan to stock locally brewed ales, wines and spirits, the ‘local’ plans to bring back the lost art of conversation with an intimate space, seating around 30, that’s perfect for those who enjoy a chat, to read, and generally just kick back with a drink.
There’s plans for live acoustic sessions, micro exhibitions and beer tasting events as Delia and Tristan remain dedicated to creating a place that is influenced by those who use it. Delia said: “We’ve set up the Crowdfunder because we don’t want to have investors at Hobo Kiosk the Pub, it’s important that we keep the feel of the place as authentic as those who interact with it.
“There are within the region of 5,000 people living around this area and everyone needs a good pub to sit off in, meet up, even have a few pre drinks before going on to the likes of Camp & Furnace, that’s what Hobo Kiosk the Pub will be about, without it costing £5 for a pint”.
The Crowdfunder Campaign has already raised in excess of £2,500, there’s still time to add your support and make this Baltic Triangle dream, a reality.
