Horrible Histories The Concert is coming to Liverpool in 2026
3 days ago

Get ready Liverpool – Horrible Histories is hitting the road for its biggest live show yet and it’s heading to The Empire next year.
To celebrate 20 years of Horrible Histories Live on Stage, Birmingham Stage Company has teamed up with Lion Television to bring fans a brand-new production packed with favourite songs, characters and plenty of mischief from the BAFTA Award-winning BBC TV series.
For the first time ever, Horrible Histories The Concert will see your best-loved (and worst-behaved) historical figures burst onto the stage – live and very much dead – backed by a live band playing all those brilliant TV songs.
The show lands in Liverpool on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 February 2026 for what promises to be a truly horrible half-term treat.
This new concert special is written by the TV show’s Ben Ward and Claire Wetton and will be led on stage by Horrible Histories song genius Richie Webb, who’s behind every catchy tune you’ve ever heard on the telly version.
This time round, William Shakespeare is roped in to create the greatest show on earth – but things don’t go to plan when he has to deal with big personalities like Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and Boudica all fighting for the spotlight. Then Death shows up with Napoleon, Cleopatra and even Loo Man in tow – and suddenly the whole thing’s a right royal mess.
Expect live music, laugh-out-loud chaos and special guest appearances from Charles II, Dick Turpin and a rowdy gang of Vikings who apparently can’t be kept out of the wings.
So bring your best singing voice and get ready to belt out those classic songs – this is one history lesson you’ll never forget.
Horrible Histories The Concert is recommended for ages 5 to 105, though if you’re 106 you might want to sit this one out.
Tickets for the Liverpool dates are expected to fly out fast so keep an eye out for cast announcements and more on socials at @HHLiveOnStage.
