A relaunch has seen the city’s Hotel Indigo offering a new look and fresh facilities for its guests and visitors to enjoy – and it’s earned it the title of Liverpool BID Company’s Business of the Month for November, too.
All of which has left everyone at the popular Chapel Street venue feeling delighted!
“We are always striving to offer our customers the best possible experience,” says Vicki Redhead, Indigo’s sales and marketing manager.
“And to be acknowledged as Business of the Month makes us as a team feel really proud and a key part of the community.”
As well as providing a luxurious and welcoming stay, along with a meeting and dining destination, Hotel Indigo venues across the world focus on telling the story of their ‘Neighbourhood’.
In Liverpool, it’s about how the city area in which it’s based was born and grew from the cotton trade and, like the story of any area, it’s always evolving … as is the hotel itself.
Hotel Indigo is celebrating its 12th anniversary with a fabulous facelift, which has seen a new frontage and terrace area and a refurbished courtyard area at the rear.
“That in particular is like our best-kept secret because it’s tucked away, and unless you were in the hotel, you wouldn’t know it was there,” adds Vicki. “It’s like a haven in the city centre, a chance to slip away from the hustle and bustle.
“It’s good to revamp the hotel and to give it a fresh new look.”
The coloured glass windows at the front have been replaced for a modern, cool grey to tie in with new signage and branding for the global hotel chain. The terrace has been refurnished to create a cosier and more comfortable area for guests: “There’s even the addition of a huge umbrella with heating so that it makes it a more useable and cosy space for our customers who like to go out there for their morning coffee, or just to get a breath of fresh river air!”
At the rear, the courtyard has been transformed with a decked area with new tables and chairs, heaters, festoon lights and music.
“It’s given it a real urban feel,” says Vicki, “and it’s a lovely place for people to step out into from the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill for after-dinner coffee or drinks and, because it can be seen through the glass at the rear, it provides a great backdrop for the restaurant.”
An ever-present feature at Hotel Indigo is the graffiti wall, which takes pride of place in the courtyard and which tells Liverpool’s ‘Neighbourhood’ story in images, with iconic features like the Liver Birds, the two cathedrals, the Radio City Tower, a football, and more.
“And to coincide with our relaunch, we have added a new painting on the wall,” reveals Vicki, “the Eurovision heart to celebrate the city’s successful hosting of Eurovision this year.”
Beth Locke, engagement manager for Liverpool BID Company, says: “Hotel Indigo Liverpool is always positive and has a drive and willingness to support the city and get involved in the community.
“It also has a strong sustainability ethic, which sees it donate its coffee grounds to Liverpool Parish Church for use in its planting!
“And we can add to that that the hotel has recently redeveloped its outdoor space to create two great terrace areas for their diverse range of guests from those visiting the city to the business community, and all of that along with their positive approach, and support for the city and the community, has earned them the title of Business of the Month.”
