How the city’s bars and venues are celebrating Pride in Liverpool this year

The carnival is coming to Liverpool as the city gets set to mark Pride 2023 at the end of this month.
And bars and venues like these can’t wait to join in the Pride in Liverpool celebrations…
SuperstarBoudoir
Debbie Darling, Shania Pain and Brenda LaBeau are set to sparkle at the Stanley Street club on Saturday, July 29. They’ll be joined by DJ Milk Tray and Ketona Madrave and the fun starts at 1pm and goes on until 5am.

24 Kitchen Street
Sonic Yootha’s returning to 24 Kitchen Street on Saturday, July 29, for its Pride Party – Joy. It’s a tenner a ticket from 9pm to 4pm, and the disco divas promise the best dance music and ‘a gay old time for homos, fauxmos, gender-blenders, full-time queens & part-time Brendas’.

Navy Bar
There’s a great line up at Navy Bar and you can book your booths day and night for its #TRUMPLOVESPRIDE event. DJs Jade Jaxon, Andy Mac, Lee Hardy, Robbie Edwards, Pete West and Carl Williams will be playing some great dance anthems in the heart of the LGBT quarter. So they’ll be there – but will you?

Masquerade Bar
Atomic Kitten’s Kerry Katona is one of the star guests at The Masquerade Bar’s Shout It Loud Outdoor Stage and Street Party which will be bringing ‘sunshine to the stage’. And there’ll be more fabulous acts and entertainment at the Cumberland Street party place including Jodie Doody as Kylie Minogue. The festival space (with outside bar) will be open from 1.30pm going all the way through until 11.30pm, when the party will move inside until 3am!

Heaven
It’s not just one night in Heaven but a weekend of fun when the Victoria Street venue celebrates Liverpool Pride 2023. The main event will be a street party with all of your favourite queens dancing across three stages, outside seating and a line-up of boss DJs – but don’t miss its special Pride Party on Thursday, July 27, with Drag Race UK’s Dakota Schiffer.

Camp and Furnace
Garlands Day Festival is celebrating 30 years of the iconic Eberle Street club, bringing back lots of the original team, the tunes, and the look of the legendary venue. It’ll be held at Camp and Furnace on Saturday, July 29, supporting LCR Pride and recreating the amazing ‘Garlands Made Me Do It’ atmosphere that made the club so special.

GPO Metquarter
GPO is hosting its first ever Drag Bottomless Brunch This year, on Saturday, July 29, to celebrate Pride in Liverpool. Hosted by Twin Flame Drag Duo, you can enjoy 90 minutes of bottomless beer, prosecco, and cocktails, as well as food from around the world, games, raffles, banging music, and a ‘whole lotta FUN!’. Its Terrace Party will be making a return with its DJs hitting the decks and its amazing bar team has whipped up a cheeky line-up of Pride cocktail specials.

It’s its biggest event of the year, and GBar is ready with its Liverpool Pride 2023 street party and indoor festival on Saturday, July 29. They’ll be welcoming special guests Louis Millne, John Cotton, Niva, Brenda La Beau, Tom Smith, Joe Valorim and Ketona Madrave, alongside resident DJs Andy Locker, Dave Bennett, Andy Mac, Minnie Cooper and Violet Pain between 4pm and 7am (inside from 11pm). Red Brick Market’s always the place to head to with the city’s largest alternative independents, offering, everything from vintage fashion to homeware, street art and loads more. And throughout the Saturday and Sunday of Pride weekend it’s celebrating its new Baltic Market venue with a Pop up for Pride event.

Liverpool Theatre Festival
Liverpool Theatre Festival’s on from Thursday, July 20, to Sunday, July 30, but during Liverpool City Region Pride Festival some of LTF shows have been specifically chosen to complement the weekend’s celebrations, including: Laughterhouse Comedy – Pride Special on Friday, July 28, with two performances at 6pm and 8.30pm. MC Jonathan Major will introduce some of the best LGBTQ+ stand-up comedians; and Dame Fanny & Her Fabulous Friends on Sunday, July 30 at 12pm.

Albert’s Schloss
The Bold Street venue is hosting a weekend of celebration, love, and joy, soundtracked by spectacular shows guaranteed to get everyone dancing on the benches. Commencing at 4:45pm on Friday afternoon with Apres-Work performances, drinks offers on Spritz + Seasonal cocktails, Pilsner and bottles of Prosecco until 7pm, and further Friday Frolichs until the early hours from Good Luckin’ and Albert’s Haus Band. On Saturday, the iconic Pleasure Palace raises the curtain from 3:30pm kicking off with R&B and Soul vocalist Joe Hazlett , wrapping things up with Sunday Service performances from Soul City Voices start through to the Testify Industrie Knees-Up to close.
