Liverpool Business Fair is celebrating 20 years of championing Liverpool businesses with an all-day event giving them the chance to showcase what they do, get advice and make new face-to-face connections.
The free to attend business exhibition and support day, which is held at Liverpool Football Club on Tuesday March 22.
After launching at Liverpool Town Hall in 2002, Liverpool Business Fair has been at its current Anfield home for a decade and has grown to become one of the city’s flagship business-to-business events.
It not only offers exhibition space where companies can present their products or services, but valuable support through free seminars, advice from professionals and industry organisations and networking opportunities.
Liverpool Business Fair attracts hundreds of visitors every year, so it’s a springboard for businesses to spread the word as they recover post-pandemic.
“Obviously some businesses, especially those in delivery and distribution, were able to expand during the pandemic but quite a lot put themselves on hold. Now they’re starting to get back to more normal activities and they’re looking to reconnect with existing customers and contacts, and to connect with new ones,” says Tony Haines from event organisers Liverpool BA.
“We had to postpone in 2020, but when we were able to come back in October last year we found that people were very glad to be out and about and able to combine traditional marketing activities with online again.”
Around 15% of visitors to the event are thinking about setting up a business or have just recently started their own business. Start-ups ready to move up a gear also exhibit and use LBF as a shop window.
“One of the things which exhibitors and visitors tell us they like most is the mixture of a straightforward business exhibition and a support day so as well as stands we have free workshops and seminars on lots of different topics including those that would be particularly of interest to someone planning or in the early stages of their business,” adds Tony.
Experts at this year’s Liverpool Business Fair will include Jon Davies Accountants, master coach Andy Guile from New Directions, LinkedIn coach Jason Jones and founder of 45+ Not Out Una Cottrell. There’ll also be some one-to-one writing clinics offering tips on creating website blogs.
Liverpool University and John Moores University, the Home Office, Enterprise Hub and the Women’s Organisation are also among the exhibitors who’ve already signed up.
“Coming along to Liverpool Business Fair can kill a lot of birds with one stone – you might be talking to potential suppliers, building your own contacts at networking sessions, attending workshops or speaking to someone for advice,” says Tony. “And obviously, as an exhibitor, you could be promoting your business to a wider audience than you’d usually reach.”
