Huge charity single launch in memory of Busker Pete to be held at Cavern Club
1 year ago
On Tuesday 21 November 2023, from 7.00pm, a huge charity single launch is taking place at Liverpool’s iconic Cavern Club.
The night is in aid of Liverpool’s Mr Old Hall Street and his work helping the homeless in the city, and is being hosted in memory of Busker Pete, who sadly passed away recently.
Livin’ La Vida Liverpool was created by La Vida Liverpool magazine owner Justin Hopper and high energy Latin party band, Los Amigos, and was filmed by EMPRA.
Pete starred in the Livin’ La Vida Liverpool music video just a couple of months before he passed and the night will act as a tribute to him, whilst raising money for the vital work of Mr Old Hall Street — who was a close friend of Pete.
On the night there will be a DJ spinning Latin vibes, a premiere screening of the music video, a live set from Los Amigos themselves, talks from all involved in the project with special guest speakers, a huge charity raffle and more.
The event will be high energy and lots of fun, whilst raising money for the homeless prior to the winter, and tickets are just £10 – available via The Cavern Club website.
La Vida Liverpool is a positive media source founded by Justin Hopper in 2018 that aims make the region and the world a better place via positive news. Now with an online magazine, print magazine and radio show, La Vida Liverpool has helped countless people in the region and has raised tens of thousands of pounds for good causes such as this.
Owner Justin Hopper said:
“Liverpool is full of legendary characters, such as Busker Pete and Mr. Old Hall Street. This hilarious single premiere will be a really fun night but it also aims to honour Pete, whilst raising funds for and celebrating the great work of Mr. Old Hall Street — who supplied Pete with his colourful outfits. Pete was once homeless, so to raise money for the homeless in his name is very special.”
He continued:
“Originally, the song was just a fun collaboration between La Vida Liverpool and Los Amigos, who are the best Latin party band around. They really are amazing and the song is incredible! Busker Pete starred in the music video but he sadly passed a couple of months after filming — so that’s when we thought about doing something in his memory for the homeless.”
Thanks to the kind support of The Cavern Club, the event will be one of the most entertaining showcases of the year — with Los Amigos set to bring all the Latin party energy on the night. There will be some incredible prizes on offer in the raffle too, as the night intends to raise thousands towards the ever-growing homelessness issue in the city.
Brian Phillips, aka Mr. Old Hall Street, said:
“On behalf of all my homeless brothers and sisters, I’d like to thank everyone for putting this night together. As everyone knows, I was once homeless but now I dedicate my life to helping the homeless of our city. Unfortunately, the situation is getting worse and there are more deaths happening. It will be even worse this winter so this fundraiser is coming at the right time.”
The event is happening on Tuesday 21 November from 7.00pm — tickets are £10 and every penny raised from the event is going to help the homeless.
