Iconic Wavertree venue set to reopen this Spring
7 seconds ago
Located on Wavertree High Street, Wavertree Town Hall has become a local landmark, standing at the famous site for over 150 years.
The venue will be opening again soon this spring under new ownership.
The restaurant and bar closed its doors in October last year under previous management, with it now being brought back to life.
Situated in South Liverpool, the municipal building, which is a Grade II listed building, was once the offices of the Wavertree local board of health.
Designed by local architect John Elliot Reeve in the neoclassical style, the Town Hall was built in stone with a stucco finish and was completed in 1872.
The original features inside will all be kept, and the site will continue to be split across 3 areas.

The front of the Town Hall will be a traditional pub serving locally sourced classic, hearty foods such as steak and ale pie and scouse. Keeping with the cosy pub theme, there will be no TVs in here, and it will contain an open fire.
A larger bar in the back will showcase all major sporting events and dart boards.
Sundays will be an important feature of the Town Hall, with Sunday lunch served across both of the ground-floor areas.
The upstairs space will be a function space, with this being the biggest of the 3 areas, with a capacity of around 100 people. It will be perfect for parties, christenings and events.
Nicola Halton, Business Development Manager for the Harrison Group, said:
“We are well into our refit of this site and look forward to bringing this much-loved old building back to life. Wavertree Town Hall is such a stunning building, and to be given the chance to take up this project as custodians is a real privilege. Works will be complete and the site ready to reopen later this Spring. The site will also create around 20 new full and part-time jobs in our sector when we open.”
