I’m a Celeb is back! But do you remember these 11 Merseyside Faves on the Show?

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2019 kicks off this Sunday, 17th November, and the line-up looks awesome!

I’m a Celeb is back with a whole new cast of famous faces, more disgustingly brilliant bush tucker trials (minus the live animal meals!), and fingers crossed more drama than ever before.

This year will see Southport girl, Adele Roberts from Radio ONE join the likes of Nadine Coyle, Ian Wright, Roman Kemp, Caitlin Jenner, Kate Garraway and more in the terrifying Australian jungle.

Adele is no stranger to reality TV after starring in series three of Big Brother alongside Jade Goody and Kate Lawler. Since leaving the Big Brother house she has made her mark on the decks, and on the radio, now hosting her own show on BBC Radio ONE. She is also a regular face at LIMF in Sefton Park where she has been Central Stage house DJ many times. Watch our chat with her above. Bring it home Adele!

Can you believe the first series of I’m a Celeb started way back in 2002, and since then almost every series has featured a bushtucker-loving scouser including a Queen of the Jungle….and a couple of jesters, but can you remember them all?

Here’s our run down of the biggest and best North West contestants from 14 years of jungle action!

1 – Jenny Frost

Former Atomic Kitten Jenny gathered a HUGE fan-following from Series 5 of I’m a Celeb which aired in 2005. She lasted 14 days in the camp, facing only one Bush-tucker trial, ‘Panic Station’ and finished up 7th when in the bottom 2 against Blue singer, Antony Costa. Jenny did us proud and despite the basic conditions, she looked utterly stunning in her white bikini pics that the UK press went mad over! Northern Girls, you cant beat them!

2 – Craig Charles

ITV

ITV

Red Dwarf and Corrie Actor Craig flew out to Oz to join I’m a Celebrity series 14. We had huge hopes for the scouse-born Funk DJ to have us all in stitches with his wicked sense of humour, but sadly he flew back to the UK after a family tragedy cut his stay in camp to just four days. There are rumours that Craig may be returning to camp this series and we reckon if he does, he’s got King of the Jungle written all over him! Gwed lad!

3 – Kerry Katona

Ladies and Gentlemen, please rise for the Queen of the Jungle 2004, Kerry Katona. The former Atomic Kitten star is also rumoured to be following in the footsteps of camp mate, Katie Price, by appearing on a second series. Kerry became the camp sweetheart, was never nominated for a bush-tucker trial and coined the best phrase about the competition to date. She said: “You’ve got to have a hunk in there! And you’ve got to have a babe in there. Bit of eye candy!” We couldn’t agree more!

4 – Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock

Also starring in series 3 was former Liverpool and England player, Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock. The big man always had a smile for the cameras and despite putting on a brave show for the ‘Feed Your Face’ bush-tucker trial, he finished up in 8th place after 11 days in the jungle. To be fair though, with Katie Price and Peter Andre all over each other, we probably would’ve gone home as well!

5 – Bobby Ball

Scouse comedy fave and all round legend starred in series 5 and had everyone in stitches from the moment he landed. Bobby lasted 16 days in the jungle and finished 5th and did considerably better than his ‘other-half’ Tommy who was the first out during the 2005 series. 71 year old Bobby was quoted as saying: “I endured starvation, sickness and spider bites – but I missed Yvonne like crazy.” Awwwww little softie!

6- Sheree Murphy

Emmerdale & Hollyoaks Actress turned Chef and wife of former Liverpool FC player Harry Kewell (This makes Sheree an honourary scouser in our eyes!) also took part in series 5 alongside Jenny Frost. Having the survived the bottom two, THREE times, Sheree went on to take second place after 18 days in the Aussie jungle. Mum 0f four Sheree conquered her fear of heights by parachuting into the camp and was then voted to take on the helicopter challenge too! Legends!

7 –  Faith Brown

Scouse Comedian and impressionist Faith joined camp mates in series 6 alongside a stellar line-up including Jason Donovan, David Gest and Matt Willis. Providing the laughter for Team Snake Rock, Faith endured 13 gruelling days in the jungle before leaving for her Liverpool home, finishing 10th.

8 – Crissy Rock

Benidorm actress, Crissy (or ‘Our Chrissy as we like to call her) literally rocked up for series 11 of I’m a Celeb and was well-known for being the camp jester! Crissy lasted a well impressive 18 days in the camp, and won two celebrity chest challenges to bring the camp crisps and popcorn! Getting the munchies in! Crissy finished in 6th place as Dougie Poynter took the crown to wrap up the competition for 2011. She said she’d had the best laugh of her life and you could hear it all through the jungle!

9 – Gemma Atkinson

gemma-atkison-im-a-celeb

Former Hollyoaks star and model, Gemma took part in I’m A Celeb in 2007 and the UK press went cray cray over her super hot bikini pics! The big personalities of series 7 such as Christopher Biggins and Katie Hopkins paled in significance once Gemma stripped off for her daily dip. Gemma finished in 5th place having lasted 18 days in the jungle.

10 – Kim Woodburn

This is one of our favourite ever I’m a Celeb contestants and everyone’s favourite domestic Goddess and ‘How Clean is your House’ presenter, Kim took on the boys as she dominated the 9th series o I’m A Celeb. Finishing second (she’s still our Queen of the Jungle) to Gino D’Acampo, Kim gave daily lessons in keeping camp spaces clean and how to remove animal intestines from clothes with half a lemon and river water! Pure Scouse class!

11 – Edwina Currie

edwina-currir

Former Conservative party politician, Edwina finished in 4th place behind series 14 eye candy, Mel Sykes contestant, Edwina was took on some seriously grizzly bushtucker trials including ‘Cabin Fever’ which still gives us goosebumps watching it now! Or does it!?

12 – Jorgie Porter

jorgie-porter-im-a-celeb

2015 camp mate, Jeorgie isn’t Liverpool born or bred but her stint on Hollyoaks and officially treading the board in this years Empire Theatre Panto, Snow White, gives her some serious brownie points! The 2015 series was a serious babe-fest with Jeorgie also creating a stir with her jungle waterfall pics, alongside Geordie shore star Vicky Pattinson who eventually won the competition, with our gorgeous Jorgie taking 5th place.

11- Sam Quek

sam-quek-im-a-celeb

Our 2016 hopeful is none other than Olympic Hockey ace, Sam Quek, and with a whole haul of gold from Rio, we reckon she’s got a great chance of coming home with a crown this time! 28 year-old Sam, former student at Birkenhead High School is set to swap the hockey pitch for the jungle and take on the challenges like the pro we all know and love. Plus she might just draw on her former swimwear modelling experience for those all important bikini shots in the waterfall! Go for Gold Sam!
