International Mersey River Festival returns with another huge line up this Summer…
8 years ago

This summer the International Mersey River Festival is once again returning to Liverpool’s iconic pier head, and we are already excited about the line up. Jay Hynd meets Councillor Wendy Simon at the Cunard Building to find out what we can expect from this years massive festival.
Liverpool loves it’s maritime history and 2016 is no exception. Joining us with the celebrations are the British Thundercats Racing Tour where the 18 small boats will be racing up and down the Mersey. Also joining is the much anticipated Daniel Adamson, a 113 year old tug boat which has been preserved by the Daniel Adamson Preservation Society, and will be ferrying festival goers of the fist time in 95 years. The Northern Boat show and usual canal boats will also be returning for the weekend. And as always music will play a huge part in the Scouse celebrations with stages at the Pier Head, Albert Dock and live music on board the tall ships.
Make sure you don’t miss out on what is set to be another fantastic year on the Pier Head. The International Mersey River Festival 2016 sails into Liverpool between the 3rd and 5th of June.
