It’s a Charity Takeover this week on The Guide Liverpool and we’d love your help

Next week on The Guide Liverpool we’re dedicating our site to three local charities that have touched each and every one of us in our greatest time of need.

We’ve been working closely with Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals as they undergo huge expansion plans to provide more care in state of the art facilities to even more patients across the region.

On Monday we’re going to bring you a rare insight into the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity and how your support is changing the face of cancer treatment across the UK.

Join us and hear, first hand from patients and staff about how your fundraising can help ease the burden for someone suffering with cancer, from funding pioneering treatment and equipment at the new Liverpool hospital to improving facilities with a huge investment to the Wirral based hospital.

Did you know that chemotherapy chairs cost £10,000 each? The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity plan to raise £15m to continue its ground-breaking research and to improve patient experience of cancer care in the north west.

On Wednesday 7th December we take you into the world-class and brand-spanking new Alder Hey in the Park, a truly patient-friendly hospital that cares for more than 250,000 patients and their families, every year.

We’ve all seen the stunning new hospital take shape from the grassy rooftops to the incredible internal atrium and we’re going to show you just how dedicated to improving children’s health the Alder Hey Children’s Charity is.

Bursting with ambition to improve children’s health, Alder Hey Children’s Charity isn’t just developing new medicines and treatments, its helping to train over 1000 healthcare professionals each year, trialling new sensor technology and printing X-rays in 3D, amazing or what?

Whether you #GetYourStripes with official charity pjays and socks from Matalan, or throw yourself around a marathon or Tough Mudder, your fundraising and donations will go towards improving care for children every day. We’ll be ending The Guide Liverpool Charity Takeover on Friday 9th December with a first look at the new ‘Royal’ hospital with R Charity and we reckon you’ll be truly surprised at just how amazing it’s going to be when it opens in Autumn 2017.

With the largest A&E department of it’s kind, in the country, plus specialist clinics like St Paul’s and the Linda McCartney Centre, the ‘Royal’ also hosts one of the largest portfolios of clinical research in the north west!

As one of the most anticipated additions to our buzzing city centre, the new hospital is set to invest in high-technology equipment and create environments that are comfortable and convenient for patients and families. With a ’10 area of excellence’ plan, the R Charity £10m charity appeal will revolutionise the ‘Royal’ for everyone.

R Charity is dedicated to raising funds to buy specialist equipment and vastly improve facilities for patients and staff at RLBUHT, as it goes beyond the NHS promise of care to provide a world-class service.
