It’s National Fish and Chip Day!
Is there a better, more tasty lunch or dinner than fish n chips? The smell of vinegar, a dash of salt and maybe a dollop of mushy peas…..we’re drooling just writing this! We have hundreds of chippy’s to choose from for a tasty battered treat, but the question is…..which one is the best?
As much as we’d love to do a taste test ourselves for this article, we’re not sure our cholesterol levels could take 100 fish suppers or sausage dinners! So instead we’ve taken to the streets and asked the experts, YOU!
Here’s Liverpool’s top ten chippy’s on National Fish and Chip Day!
Steve’s, Ashfield Road, Aigburth Vale. Serving up award-winning fish & chips since way back when, Steve’s is a stone’s throw from Otterspool and goes hand in hand with a river view! Open from 11:30am. 0151 727 3022
Deborah’s Golden Fry, East Prescot Road, Knotty Ash. The Golden Fry has a huge menu including all the English faves plus Chinese meals and the nicest delivery guys in Liverpool! Open from 4:30. 0151 220 0029
So’s, Pilch Lane, Dovecot. So’s needs its own multi-storey car park as people flock from all over the city to sample their traditional fish and chips and Chinese meals. Beat the queue and call 0151 228 2159 to place an order instead. Open from 5pm
Lobster Pot, Whitechapel and Ranelagh Street, City Centre. Now we all know the best way to finish off a night out on the town is with a portion of chips, and The Lobster Pot has two city locations to help ward off a hangover! Open til late and right by the taxi rank! Winner!

The Good Catch, Montague Mews, Crosby. Hailed as ‘the best chippy on the planet, probably’ by a super enthusiastic punter, we’re considering a trip to Crosby this evening. And what better way to enjoy our tea than sitting by Crosby Marina or Burbo Bank? Open from 11:30am. 0151 638 4789
