Yoga is being practised right across the Merseyside region and what better time to have a go at this relaxing, strengthening and spiritual activity, thank on National Yoga Day!?
Everyone needs to take time a little time out to nourish themselves and refresh emotionally and spiritually and although our lives are ridiculously busy these days, active meditation is believed to have numerous physical and emotional benefits to help even the most frazzled of worker to unwind.
If you’ve never been to a yoga session before, here’s what to expect. Yoga comprises a series of stretching, disciplined bodily postures and breath control; and is widely practised for health and relaxation reasons. It can also help to build muscle strength preventing arthritis and alleviating back pain, increase flexibility, aid sleep and help you to relax.
Dionne Palmer, a Wirral based yoga instructor took her first class in 2000 and has been practising ever since, she said: “There are many benefits from practising yoga regularly, you don’t need to be flexible, just the desire to have a go.
“Most studios offer generous introductory offers to new students to try as many styles as you can, I warn you, Yoga can change your life.”
