We’re very much looking forward to working with James’ Place this year, and to supporting the charity’s valuable efforts to make a difference to the lives of these men and their families.”

James’ Place helps men in suicidal crisis find hope for the future. The centre in Liverpool is the first of its kind in the UK, offering brief, intensive therapeutic sessions in a non-clinical environment. The charity has helped over 250 men so far, and fundraising support from Merseyrail throughout the year will help to make this vital work possible.

Clare Milford Haven, Founder of James’ Place said, “We are so pleased and grateful to be chosen as Merseyrail’s Charity of the Year. It means a great deal to me, and to all the team at James’ Place, that the employees themselves have voted to support us.

We opened in Liverpool 18 months ago, and have been profoundly touched by how readily our work has been welcomed. We look forward to a great year ahead.”
