Jazz Saturdays marks 10 years at Ma Boyle’s as new Latin Jazz Social Club launches
1 hour ago

Ma Boyle’s is kicking off October with a full weekend of live jazz as Jazz Saturdays celebrates its 10th anniversary and a brand-new Friday night session launches.
On Friday 3 October, Parrjazz introduces the Latin Jazz Social Club, a new weekly night bringing Cuban, Brazilian and Latin jazz to the venue. Then on Saturday 4 October, Jazz Saturdays marks a decade as the city’s longest-running weekly jazz night. Both events and all future dates are free, with table bookings recommended.
Jazz Saturdays has welcomed a long list of respected artists over the years, including Mica Paris, Sid Jacobs, Sue Rynhart, Baiana and Daniel John Martin. Parrjazz has played a major part in building the night into a cornerstone of Liverpool’s music scene.

Iain Hoskins, owner of Ma Pub Group, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to reach 10 years of Jazz Saturdays at Ma Boyle’s, which also marks 10 years since we brought the venue back from closure. We took our lead from New York jazz bars and shaped the whole place around live sessions instead of karaoke nights. It took time to build momentum, but now Saturdays are part of Ma’s identity. Our relationship with Geni Lamb and Parrjazz has been key, and adding the Latin Jazz Social Club on Fridays means we’ve now got a full weekend of sounds for jazz fans.”
Geni Lamb from Parrjazz added:
“It’s brilliant to be marking ten years at Ma Boyle’s with our anniversary event on Saturday 4 October and the launch of the Latin Jazz Social Club the night before. We made Ma Boyle’s our only regular free-entry event because Iain and his team genuinely care about live music. They’ve helped create what I call Liverpool’s Saturday Night Jazz Oasis. We’re looking forward to the year ahead with great music, great vibes, world-class guests – and of course Ma’s Blind Scouse.”

The new Friday night series begins with Cuba Vida on 3 October, bringing a mix of salsa, funk, Latin jazz and reggaeton to launch the Latin Jazz Social Club. October’s line-up also features Hamilton Luduvice, Mambo Collective, Martino Ferriero and Samba and The Chips.
On Saturday 4 October, the anniversary party features an extended set from Geni Lamb and the Parrjazz House Bandits, with guest musicians dropping in from the Parrjazz roster who’ve helped shape the night over the years.
Opening weekend schedule:
Friday 3 October – Latin Jazz Social Club launch with Cuba Vida
The Cuba Vida Salsa Band bring an energetic blend of Latin, jazz, funk, salsa and reggaeton to kick off the new Friday session.
