Christmas
Join Santa Claus and take part in festive fun this Christmas at Speke Hall
1 year ago
This December, Father Christmas is making a special stop at Speke Hall for lots of family fun and there will be plenty of other opportunities for visitors to get into the Christmas spirit too.
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 24 November to 10 December, the Tudor mansion will be open for visitors to experience the unique feeling of Christmas at Speke Hall.
On weekends throughout the festive period, the National Trust property will be transformed by the sights, sounds and scents of traditional Victorian and Tudor Christmases.
Families can enjoy Breakfast with Father Christmas events in the final weeks of December. Enjoy a delicious breakfast, story time with Father Christmas and a present to take home. Tickets are available for tables of 2, 3, 4 & 6, with slots available on the mornings of 15, 18, 19 & 20 December.
Visitors can sign up for a peaceful drawing session in the inspiring surroundings of Speke Hall’s Great Hall, decorated in its Christmas guise, as Shakespeare North put on a relaxed Elizabethan portrait drawing session on Friday 1 December.
There are creative activities for the kids too, with weekend craft workshops in the Events Room between 11.30am and 2pm.
Children can drop in to make pomanders on 2 and 3 December, sugar mice on 9 and 10 December, and Christmas paper decorations on 16 and 17 December.
Visitors can head out to embrace the wilder side of the estate, with its acres of woodland, meadows and neighbouring coastal reserve, on a Winter Ranger Ramble, where they’ll learn about the characters, history and habitats of the estate and enjoy a warming walk in the winter air.
Speke Hall’s Home Farm restaurant will also be serving up some Christmas-time specials and a cosy atmosphere for those looking to escape the cold, while the property’s secondhand bookshop, Speke’s Volumes will be selling plenty of classic, modern, vintage and children’s books – perfect gifts for Christmas day.
